Hi all, these are the initial findings from October. I go again tomorrow to have another with and without contrast. This process is so exhausting.  Doesn't say anything about a positive demyelinating disease. However I have three different Neurologists who keep insisting otherwise. I go Tuesday for IV steroids. Then I go for a LP. I wish there was something that simply said positive or negative. Tired of being a lab rat. :(  Any input or AHA moments, please shout them my way. Thank you. xoxo

The next set of MRIs are done, go back in Tuesday. IV steroids, then scheduling lumbar puncture. Hopefully some questions finally answered. Night!

Hi Kyle,
Thank you for the warm Welcome! I have now posted the impressions from the same MRI (Note the impressions you requested are now on my profile photos). The spine report does say no plaques were found, they did mention an 8 mm circumscribed focus within the c4, along with scattered rare T2 foci . *shrugs* I am not a doctor either, but I do know you don't have to have plaques to have MS.
I do have many of the A typical signs and symptoms as well, I do believe had they listed all of my indications, the radiologists would have quite a bit to read. Also if you note this MRI was in October, I go tomorrow for another with and w/o contrast.
I have had a few instances of double vision, many instance of blurred/fogged vision. It seems my vision is getting worse over time, and I recently gotten new glasses. I have problems focusing, and tend to be in sentence and completely lose chain of thought. I thought my lumbar being fixed would fix my bladder issues. Not the case. I have had to catheterize myself for almost two years. Fatigue....I thought for years it was depression, then I thought meds, I actually blamed several things on several other issues.
I also have recently had issues with swallowing, to include medications. The ENT doctor put some numbing spray in my nose, then a camera down my nose into my throat to examine my throat etc...he concurs with the neurologists.
Now with that said, am I still just someone with neck and back issues? I probably more than likely failed to mention something, but I tried to list some issues I am dealing with.

Hi immisceo!! I wouldn't even know where to begin with all of this. As I initially went a few years ago for leg pain. Then one thing lead to another and so on and so forth. An orthopedist back then had thought that it was referred pain from my back. My lumbar and c spine has had disc bulges yes, annular tears, etc. I have had a surgery on my lumber spine. The neurosurgeon wants to do a surgery on my upper spine, but doesn't think right now is a good time. I have bruises on my arms and legs from multiple falls. You'd think someone beat the crap out of me.
Yes, the neurologists have mentioned these results as well. They are wanting the neurosurgeon to do something I guess...it's been a tug of war between them all. I also see a neuropsychologist about all of this too.
I came to this message forum under the impression that maybe others with similar situations. In hopes to have someone or a few some ones to speak to about my issues.
Yes, as you said you are not a doctor, but I do believe if you truly have MS then with that you truly have experience. Which means, maybe just maybe you can give me some words of wisdom.
For the record, my experiences I haven't even got my feet wet here, I haven't divulged that, so I am confused. Surely you don't think from the "indications" that is all I am dealing with. I have good days and bad days with walking. I can't walk on unfamiliar flooring/grounding without my cane. But most flat surfaces I can do okay, I do still stumble though.
I am in hopes of finding a support group. Not someone who may or may not have MS tell me that I don't when many doctors say I do. smh

Hi L.A.H. Welcome to the group.

The reports you posted show the findings section. What does the Impressions section say? Nothing in what I read makes me think of MS. The impression section should say what the radiologist thinks may be the cause of the findings.

In the spine report it says no plaques were found. This tends to point away from MS. There were a few suspicious findings in the brain report. The impressions section would give possible causes for them.

All of these findings need to be discussed with your neurologist. As immisceo said, many of your symtpms might be caused by the cervical disk problems. Because MS and disk problems impact nerves, albeit in different ways, it can be hard to keep symptoms sorted out.

Finding answers cab be a long and frustrating process. You have lots of company here on this search. Keep us posted and ask lots of questions.

Kyle

We're just laymen here, not doctors, for what it's worth. It mentions you had the MRI due to falls, weakness (paresis) and pins and needles (paresthesia). It would seem that *could* be explained by the disc bulge and degenerative disc disease found in your neck. C5-6, C6-7 are the locations in the cervical vertebrae that are effected.

Have these three neurologists you mention seen these results? Have you had other symptoms that have made them think a demyelinating disease is more likely?

Steroids and an LP would be typical next steps in light of what could interpreted as an inconclusive MRI result. Though I do think it's *possible* some of what you're experiencing could be attributed to your neck issues.
