MRI Report Query

I've had a copy of my MRI report but don't have an appointment to see the specialist for another 6 weeks.  He said over the phone that I have scattered abnormalities throughout both hemispheres but was unclear when I asked whether this explained my symptoms of VERTICAL double vision, nausea and vomitting.  

My eyes themselves have been given the all clear but someone did mention complex migraines during a recent hospital stay when my vision was so bad I was unable to navigate the room.  

A lumbar puncture showed nothing remarkable.  

The spells of visual disturbance and clumsiness are happening several times per week and lasting for up to a day at a time.

I have had difficult to control high blood pressure for some 8 years in the past although this is now under control.

This is the report:
Technique: Sagittal T1.Axial dual echo and FLAIR

Findings: There are a few foci of high signal in the deep white matter of both cerbral hemispheres, the largest in the left occipital lobe.  These are unchanged from the previous scan but likely better seen due to the better quality of the current scan.  The right maxillary sinus has now cleared.  No SOL or other abnormality seen.

Any information would be very much appreciated.

Maybe he's waiting for the appt. and clinical exam to make comment on your nausea, dbl vision, vomiting, etc., if it's neurological, etc.

My gut feeling is if the scan results explained the problems perfectly, he'd have said something.

Uncontrolled bp for a long time can lead to so many large problems. I hope you are in good hands w/cardiologist for this issue.  It can disturb your vision, headaches, etc. to say the very least.

It's worth a call to one if you've not done so already.
