MRI findings-10 year old boy

My son is 10. He's had lesions on his brain since he was three. With recent increased headaches and memory issues, his neurologists have been more aggressive to find out what is going on. Below is cut and pasted from his most recent MRI. They have thrown around Multiple Sclerosis as being his diagnosis. But, they don't seem to be certain that that's what it is. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Multiple small foci of T2/FLAIR signal hyperintensity in the subcortical and
cortical regions of the frontal and anterior parietal lobes bilaterally.

The focus of T2/FLAIR signal hyperintensity in the subcortical white matter of the right anterior
temporal lobe measures 9 mm in maximum anteroposterior dimension. A small focus of T2/FLAIR signal
hyperintensity medial to this lesion is unchanged. A small focus of juxtacortical T2/FLAIR
signal hyperintensity in the left temporal lobe is also stable.

Patchy foci of T2/FLAIR signal hyperintensity in the periatrial white matter is stable.

There is a stable 3 mm nonenhancing fluid signal lesion in the subcortical white matter of the right superior frontal gyrus, likely a neuroglial cyst. (This is new)

There is a moderate-sized mucus retention cyst in the right maxillary sinus. (This is also new)

Thank you!  He has an appt with his neurologist today. He sees a doctor that specializes in white matter brain diseases. Hopefully they will have some answers today. We first found the lesions when he was 3, so it's been 7 years of questions. He goes to Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, so I am confident they will be able to figure something out. They have a great Neurology department.

Oh, poor guy!

Those MRI findings don't exclude MS, so he needs further workup. If he starts receiving treatment now, he may stay in remission.

I am sorry you and your son are going through this. I don't have information to offer other than that there was a Mom on here who posted quite a bit when her teenage daughter was dx'd. I think her screen name was Penina. Maybe search for her posts? A lot of her posts were really informative. Also, there are MS specialists who work with children. If you want MS ruled out, it might not be a bad idea to seek an opinion with one of them. You could also call MS society or look up MS consortium to get names. I hope it is not. I hope you get answers. Hugs.
