MRI tomorrow!!!

Hi y'all!!! I've been having terribly painful neck aches.  They run up into my scalp and down my spine!!! Muscle spasms on either side of my spine, my neck and butt!!! Yay!!!

In my scalp I keep hearing or feeling a crackling noise, like rice chrispies, before when I would turn my head I'd feel or hear a delayed noise in my neck!! Really strange!!

Not sure what is going on, just in pain, about an 8 for me, all the time!!! Wake up in pain, can't sleep because of it, want to rip my head off just to end it!!! That's what I told my neuro too!!! He was like, did you try Tylenol or ibuprophin or what ever else!!! Durrrrr!!!

I had an appointment scheduled for the cervical MRI for a couple months now, but I can't wait till march 22 after already waiting 2 months!!! Not to mention I started this whole thing with a new pcp back in June I think!!

It's the same ol story as so many, it's just not right!!! Limbo land!!!  I'm so tired of this, I already know what will happen, test will be normal, right???

Other symptoms
tingle down arms and legs, hands and feet
right side of face killing me, under eye(cheek bone) tingle lower jaw
some leaking of urine
constipation up the whazoo
headache (more outside muscles mostly right side and neck
confused most of the time
very tired most of the time

I don't know what it is, don't care, just want it to stop!!!

Oh and my right arm, past the elbo feels very odd, it's that feeling again where my hand almost feels like it wants to turn on, when I use it it almost catches, the palm side of the arm is tight too, does anyone know what that could be???

Thank you in advance for any input!!! Sorry this is so long, guess I'm just nervous about this test, I'm excited because every baby step they give is a smidge closer to an answer!!!

Tonight I took my boyfriends migraine meds, diddnt touch this!!! Can't touch this!!! Hehehehe!!! Ok it's not funny anymore!!!!

Good night everyone!!! Sleep tight!!!

Hi, there.  Gald the MRI went well.

I don't know much about neck pain.  But, I do know the Rice Krispy neck.  I have it and I don't have any particular neck problems, except sometimes when I turn my head quickly to the right, it's like I roll right over a nerve and the burst of pain leaves me weak.

When the neck muscles are in spasm they pull the cervical spine closer together - tightening the pressure between the vertebrae.  Somehow, I think this causes the cracklies, but I'm not sure.  but, my neck and my knees sound like a floating cr*p game.

In an earlier post you asked if the MS Hug could qualify as a relapse - I presume if it was the only symptom.  The answer is yes, any new symptom or significantly worsened symptom or any old symptom that has reappeared after being gone more than a month can qualify as a relapse.  A relapse can be one or many symptoms.

I so know those rice crunchies...I have a horrible neck, i can't even remember every thing that is wrong with it.

That is what got me on pain pills to begin but eventually I had a epidural steriod injection and it worked after the first injection, there is a series of three if you need them.
I had been in so much pain i didnt care what I took to get rid of it and that was a huge mistake that I had to correct later.

just a suggestion if it applies....

hugs, meg

Dawn,
Did you remember to get a copy of your films so you have them for your records?  If not, be sure to ask for them.

I thought I was the only one who nods off during an mri.  I always close my eyes because the open eye look is so strange on the mri pics .... and then I get relaxed and the next thing you know I'm out. I find it incredibly tranquil - noisy yes, but still tranquil.

We'll be waiting to hear what your neuro says.

be well, Lulu

Thanks Girls!!! Yeah I do say things that are funny sometimes when I feel pain, it seems when I'm at my whits end there's no where else to go but say something so stupid!!! I always ask people at work to punch me out so I can get a break, or shoot me or something!!! Thanks for listening and I wish we could all just feel better without any meds!! I bet my poor coworkers would love to punch me out just to shut me up!!! Hehehehe, I know I'm sick of listening to my self too!!!
The MRI was fabulous!!! I couldn't sleep (because of the pain) last night, got about 3 or 4 hours, I caught myself falling asleep 3 times.... Even got a grunt once!!! It was loud but I had ear plugs and I felt so relaxed... Is that weird or what???

So I guess maybe Monday, but I doubt it, I'll hear from the Neuro!!!
Glad to make you smile Mand!! That's what's so great about being here!!! I've smiled so many times reading posts!! And I've read so much pain and anguish and it's just home here for me!!! lol!!!
no one on the outside understands!!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you too Steph!!! Glad you have found some relief!! Completely gone would be awesome!!! Hopefully soon!!! Yay for the 3!!!

Good luck with the MRI--I hope you get some answers.

I can really sympathize with the head pain.  Last weekend I told my husband it hurt so much I wanted to smash my head in with a hammer (not that I would).  It's horrible to have pain so bad and no one else can see it.  Mine was also at an 8 and my neuro gave me a round of solumedrol, which has brought it down significantly, to a steady 4 (or 3 sometimes) flairing up to a 5.  This is a lot better than 8, but still not great.  (This is WITH the pain meds!)

Good luck.

Hi Dawn
I guess your MRI must be today, I really hope it gives you some answers.

I am sorry that you are in so much pain. I have to say that your "constipation up the whazoo" comment made me smile. I know it's not funny but I think you meant to give us a smile.

Good luck with it all
