MRI... what does it mean

Hello,
My rheumotologist recently had me get an MRI of the Brain. This was due to having issues walking and falling. My MRI stated the following:
Punctate focus of high T2 signal intensity in the subcortical white matter of the right anterior medial frontal lobe may reflect a focus of small vessel ischemic change, demyelination, or gliosis.
Does anyone have a clue what this means???
Thanks so much... :)

Thanks Kyle for your input. At this point I don't have a neurologist I am still seeing only my Rheumy.  Hopefully he will refer me to one.

Hi WFAD - Welcome to our group.

The report from your MRI basically says that there is an area in your white matter that doesn't look like it should. References to T2 signal intensity are often used when describing the kinds of lesions associated with MS.

This does not mean , you have MS :-) Radiologists tend to list multiple possibilities. They often list them in the order they think is more likely. In this case the first possible cause for the finding is ischemic change. This means the abnormailty may be caused by a blood vessel/flow problem.

There are many possible causes for the findings in your MRI. You should discuss the report with your neurologist.
