I went for my Tysabri infusion today, got to the chair and was told I no longer qualified for the drug........gave them 30 seconds and called Biogen........gee...........20 minutes later I was back in business............honestly!
Going back for 2 more boxes of crayons and a ream of blank paper
sorry, Alex, but I did have to chuckle at that one. I have encountered that type of customer service before, myself, where they already know what they say they don't know. Crazy system! I'm glad you got the meds, though, and hope they help with the pain. gentle hugs, L
I finally got my drug today. My favorite part was the drug management company telling me no one has sent them a request for the drug and then telling me the name and dosage of the drug. How do they know what drug and dose if no one has contacted them? I did not remember the name or dosage I took the script to the pharmacy August 8th. Apparently the drug costs $5,000 no wonder they did not want to approve it.
Alex
Dark, Sarah. Just dark.
Sounds like Alex & I have the same drug management/approval outfit. I went through a month of frustration -- maybe two -- trying to get some defective dermal patches replaced. They told my doc's office that I had "damaged" them. They told me that the doc's office wouldn't write a new Rx to replace the defective ones. Now the doc is switching me to an entirely different system. We'll see.
Alex...don't you just love the merry go round of drug approval!
Kyle, enjoy your week-end when it gets here
Laura - going for my infusion tomorrow, will talk to neuro next month about my tysabri length, you are just ahead of me.
Cann1980....kids who wander at night, I used to sleepwalk as a child, was a nightmare to parents when we vacationed with relatives who had a lakeside resort! Sorry they woke you.
Dennis - the deductible on HI is $2500, so oh well, and no "proof" that the mower did it.....so son is going to fix it, they come tomorrow.
PastorDan.....yeah, but WHICH color crayon to pick? That would send me over the wall.
Corrie - can't mix the wine with some of my meds but think a box of crayons for each hand should soothe my soul !
Hang in there everyone!
I have chemo Thursday. Trying to get a prescription filled. I took it to the pharmacy on August 5th. It has to be pre approved before they can fill it. This is the longest process I have ever been through. I am getting ticked off. Everyone is pointing fingers at some one else and meanwhile I have no pain medication. I told my Insurance Company I will go to the ER on their dime and get pain medication via a shot since I can't get the pain medication filled. They said it is the drug management company's fault. The pharmacy says it's the doctor's fault. They did not send notification to the doctor until yesterday when they told me they did it on the 5th. The drug management company says they will approve it right away if my doctor will call them. The doctor says they have faxed it in. Meanwhile I am still waiting. They will only give this pain medication to someone with Cancer so its just Cancer patients who can't get their pain medicine.
Alex
No -ology of any kind for me this week. I'm just hoping they let class out early on Friday so I can get Labor day weekend started! Going down to the Jersey Shore to see Mom. It will be my first visit since Sandy. My sister tells me I'm in for an eyeful!
Kyle
Cann, good for you to let your hubby have the spotlight this week and pampering him with the jerky. I'm married to someone who also loves the stuff, despite the cost.
Sarah- that cloud has to lift. Perhaps you can hide in a cave and color in the dark? Its nice to hear the Tysabri folks had it together for you.
The rest of you sound like you are staying the course, even though it may be wandering and not a straight line.
It was an -ology day for me, seeing both the uro and neuro this afternoon. Good visits with both - did I tell you the Uro would give Dr Mcdreamy a run for the title? I got a few tips from the neuro - he would like me to go back to PT to work on my gait, again. The first fall last year undid the good results I got from it last year. I hate to do remedial work.
I return to Columbus on Friday for my 20th Tysabri infusion - neuro and I discussed the length of time he's comfortable with patients being on, and as long as I stay JC negative, he sees no concern. They screen for JC twice a year.
In between, I have work to do at work - and it will be busy to get to the Labor Day weekend.
Everyone have a good week, if that is possible.
hugs to all, Laura
Oh hum .... :) Monday again. Can't it be Sundays forever?
I started my rebif on Friday. Tonight was shot#2... All going great!
Friday night I took aleve before the shot to offset those flu like symptoms I have heard and read so much about. Had house guests so stayed up till 11ish and then tucked in. I would have slept all well thought the night until.....
Creeekk ... Bump... Bang... Hummmm...
The front door opens, closes and little putter patter of footsies walking around the house. I look at clock. 1 am.
I am full of sweat ... Zero energy... And chilly freezing. Ugh!
I yell to my daughter (the oldest) asking what she is doing. She comes in my room saying " I just want to go play mommy" I explained to her it was time for sleeping and it is dark and time to go back to bed.
Sleep waking child back to bed... I wake husband... Go check front door!
In his confusion he does his task and back to bed.
So I did have a little bit of that "flu" but I would have slept through if I was not woken... Tis the life tho right? :)
Any tips on sleep walking children would be great btw! :)
So that is that.... The rest of my week is consumed by my hubby having a minor surgery tomorrow am. I will have to suck it up and give him all the attention this week. :) I even have food prepared ahead for him and everything! And I got him his fav... Jerky for $6 for 80g .. What a rip off but it's his fav! :)
Cheers all! Thinking of u all. Sorry I can't comment on all but wanted to share my funny mommy story. :-)
Let's see!
Tomorrow appointment with PC not too bad of timing as I'm having some new problems that may or may not be MS related.
I also have to take my truck in for oil change. Too bad I couldn't do both tomorrow as they are very near to each other. But I wasn't about to spend 4+ hours sitting around in my truck between the oil change and Dr. appointment. So I guess I'll do the oil change on Wed.
Sarah,
I think you should be able to either have the person the mowed over your gas line or Home Insurance pay to get it fixed. I sure hope that thing get better for you quickly.
Dennis
Crayon, singular. Too much to think through with the big box, TYVM.
Just trying to survive, a day at a time. Need to finish so many home repair & improvement projects. Refi bank's decided they need closer inspection for better appraisal.
Couldn't work much today, & I am a contractor, so if I don't work, I don't eat, as it were. Eyes, mostly, but balance is horrible too. Stayed off my feet as much as I could, but I am getting mushy knees and floppy feet again.
Back to Cleveland a week from Wednesday. Hangin' in, hangin' out, meanwhile.
Oh Sarah, that seems like my luck so I can sympathize. You deserve a HUGE box of crayons, and wine if you are so inclined! :-)
Back to work for me this week and only 1 appointment. Trying to get back on the diet the naturopath is suggesting, trying to cut back on coffee and then it will be time to tackle the smoking cessation. This is gearing up to be an icky fall season and I am worried I will be cranky with all of these changes.
Best of luck for the rest of the journey and I pray that things goes more smoothly for you.
That is awful about your meds though, truly awful.
Hugs,
Corrie
