I have just connected to this group so I don't know the extent of studies you have had.I had symptoms that came and went for years. Finally a Neurologist ordered an MRI and spinal tap. The MRI of head and spine showed lots of lesions. The fluid from the tap was sent to a lab in California and came back positive for a protein found in MS patients.
I hope you get a diagnosis soon so you can begin treatment if it is MS.

I think the last time you wrote you were heading to see a neurologist, what happened, is that the dr who doesn't think there is anything to worry about or is it your GP saying this again this time?
Last year you were concerned about ALS or MS, you should understand it would be very unlikely to be ALS with out having significant deterioration by this time, clinical sx would be obvious by now, so please put that out of your mind. As for it being MS, it really doesn't sound like it, MS isn't so predictable and when a relapse hits its all your old sx coming back at once and then often something new is added.
This new sx of 'twitching' or spasms doesn't sound to be the same as what happens in MS either, in MS the muscle spasms do not travel or move about, they are the in the same places each time and over time you add new ones. Its all to do with the way the damage works, imagine faulty wiring in a lamp causing the light to flicker, that faulty wiring dosn't stop any other lamps from working, just the one lamp its connected too.
Are you sure this isn't hormonal? or migraine related, that actually can be affected by hormones too.
Cheers......JJ
Hi Oscar,
Nice name - that was my grandfather's first name and it brings back some wonderful memories.
Let's put the ALS worry to rest - you say you have had these symptoms for 12 years. ALS progresses very fast - it is a disease that has a life expectancy of about 5 years after its onset.
Have you had a good thorough exam in recent years by a neurologist? You might consider lining one up if these syptoms continue to make you worry.
best, Lulu
