Muscle aches? Quix & all

I have started having muscle aches the past two weeks that occur after any small activity.  I am having them in my legs>arms and in my back and neck.  They don't feel like charlie horses but like the growing pains I felt growing up or like my muscles felt after I ran a marathon.  I am still waiting to hear from Shands to see a nueromuscular doctor for the myotonia and peripheral neuropathy but I was wondering if you had any ideas on this.  I am taking Baclofen qhs, Cymbalta, & BCP.

I feel like I am slowly losing function and having very few good days mixed in to alot of hard days.  My double vision, vibrations and exhaustion are overwhelming right now.

Thanks for your help!

I have had muscle pains all morning.  I called my doctor to find out what my potassium level was on Saturday and it was low.  I had to go back in this afternoon and get it taken again, this time it was 2.8.  My doctor said that's probably causing my muscle pains.

I have to go back again in the morning.  I guess my body is not absorbing my potassium or something.  I'm taking 6 pills a day and it's still going up and down.

You might see if that's what is causing yours to hurt.  Just a thought.

I'll be praying,
Carol

Sorry to hear about your muscle pains. I haven't been Dx with MS (yet) but I have muscle pains in my legs and some vibration feelings on and off. THe specialist said it is not MS but that I'll have to wait and see. I have tried a product calm Natural Calm to help with the muscles. There is  one with only magnesium and there is another with magnesium, potassium and calcium. You drink it twice daily and it is suppose to help ease spasms. I think it helped some but  not for a severe case. It is available in vitamin stores for about $20 for a thirty day supply.

Best wishes and hope you feel better, Rick

Thanks guys for your support and sharing!  I guess we are all in the same boat after all!

I wish it were a luxury cruise ship with room service but it appears to be a dingy and we must row ourselves!!!  This is apparently what life has dealt us and although life is hard at times there is always someone who is worse off than I am and I must keep that in mind when the pain makes me want to go balistic.  Carol is our great leader in this respect!!

I really appreciate you guys and all the support you give me and everyone else!!

Take care and I will be prayin for less pain for you guys too!!

Hi! I am sorry to know you are having this problem.  Again I can identify.  I have really bad muscle spasms and pain everyday.  It is one of the things that get my depression so bad.  I just get so tired of hurting all the time.

My pains are in shoulders, down my back, ribs, front of legs from knees down to ankles, hips.  The pain and spasms in my ribs were so bad yesterday I could hardly breath.

I can't take ibuprofen cause it makes my RLS unbearable.  Nothing seems to help.

I am also like you about doing too much and then paying for it.  After the visit with my son on Thursday I have been miserable from the pain and fatigue.

I will pray that you feel better and that the pain lessens.

Thanks for your post!!  I wish none of us had these pains but I also wish we all had a million dollars to pay our medical bills, oh and of course world peace!!

I will deal with it just like you - I have tried the Xanax and Baclofen and they don't really touch it.  I took 800mg of ibuprofen this morning and it took the edge off a little bit so I will do that.

Thanks for the Hugs and Back at ya!!  ((Hug))  ouch!!

Hi Kristin,  That is exactly how mine are. The more I do, the worse I am. And the spasms too.

I also wish I knew something to tell you. The first thing my family doctor did was prescribe muscle relaxers, but I found they did not help at all. Unfortunately, avoiding activity seems to the be the only help in my case.

Big cyber hugs for you

Thanks and THANKS!!  I was hoping someone would say if you take an extra vitamin C or something you will not have this pain.  I am sorry you are experiencing what I am and hopefully soon we will both have some answers at least to why this is occuring!

Good luck Wednesday - I'll be aching for you - oh and praying too! LOL

I get muscle aches daily, as a side dish to the spasms, lol. Mine feel like cement, like I just hiked Mt Everest, mostly left leg, left side of back (both creeping over to right last few weeks). If I have a good day, I always end up overdoing it (trying to take advantage of the energy and fleixbility) then paying for it the next couple of days. I take baclofen and quinine. I (literally) feel your pain. Wish I knew of something to tell you that helps - stretching helps, but sometimes ends up hurting my joints from making the muscles move.

Take care.

Thanks for your support!  Actually what I am noticing is that the more I do the worse I feel and the longer it stays bad.  Is this how you guys are?

I had always been a very active person but now if I spend too much time doing stuff today - tomorrow I will be unable to do anything.  I would think that I could eventually build up my tolerance to activity again but it is not working that way and I am unsure if this is what most of you deal with.

Does'nt it seem like every day theres something new?  If we really set around and dwelt on everything that was wrong with us it would be overwhelming.

I'm sorry that its' something else to make you suffer.  I would be sure and tell my doctor and if it get too bad you could go to the ER.  Maybe your doctor can give you a muscle relaxer or something to help ease you muscles.

When things like this happen to me I just look around.  There is always someone worse than you.  It may even be someone you know.  Then I just thank the Lord that he has'nt put more on me than I can handle.

If your not used to doing very much, activities can make you sore.  It's kinda like when you where in school and had P.E., remember that first 3 or 4 days of running and exercising?  Man, I can remember the pain.  I guess thats kinda what we feel now for doing any type of activity.

I'm sorry that I'm rambling all over the place.  I'll be praying for you,

Carol
