My GP appt = Predisone

Hi again... well, my GP is given me 6 days of 50mg Prednisone again to help my symptoms calm down. Hopefully.

I also have shoulder Bursitis...we think... and he hope the meds help this too.  I have had a sore shoulder for 1.5 years..but it has really gotten bad for the past few months.  Napraxen and Celebrex didn't help the inflammation.  My GP is not sure its Bursitis, but it sounds like it to him.  He didn't even look at it..just from what I have told him?

is this type of inflammation common?

well, take care everyone..

You should find a new doctor; Prednisone should not be prescribed for something you just TOLD him/her about....you need to see an orthopedist and be evaluated...not just handed a Rx. Prednisone will help a host of problems, but you first need an actual diagnosis and even testing to determine if bursitis IS really the problem. It is a very good drug but can be very dangerous if not taken EXACTLY as directed. DO NOT stop it without first consulting a physician.

I have pains all the time, and I believe it's from the MS.  They frequently appear in muscles that I don't use, like my right ankle, or my left forearm.  I also have pains that are probably from my keyboard use - shoulder, mostly.

The good news is that they're treated in the same way... mostly.  Bursitis is treated with cold, rest, and elevation.  So take care of that shoulder, and keep taking that prednisone - couldn't hurt, either way.

Hi Wobbly,

Well, I hope this Prednisone will help those symptoms.  Any time of relief is a plus, isn't it.

I have often wondered if some of my shoulder, knee and hand pain might be from arthritis or bursitis.  Maybe through all these other test, I will find out!!

I can't answer the question about inflammation, just don't know the answer.

Take care and let us know if the Prednisone works good for you.

Hugs,
doni
