My arms feel 'THICK" and weird!

My arms feel 'THICK" and weird!

For the past 3 days my fore-arms feel weird.  The only way I can explain it is that they feel "thick", as if they are swollen, even my fingers, but they are not swollen.  It feels hard to move them, but I CAN move them, they are not stiff. They feel a little tingly and my hands and feet feel cold. Motrin helps a lot.  Are these symptoms of MS?  A few years ago I had tingling in my jaw so my doc. tested me for MS and everything came back Neg.  Could he have been wrong?  Thanks for any help you can give me.

When I click on your message, it comes up something weird . . . I don't know if others are having this problem or not, but if your not getting any response back but mine, you may consider copying and pasting your original question and trying it again.

The tingling, weakness (like what you've described) can be symptoms of MS.  I'm not sure about the cold feelings in your hands or feet.  Could this be Raynaud's??

These symptoms are not exclusively MS symptoms, however.  There are many diseases that mimics MS.

What kinds of tests have you had?  Have you had MRI's or a spinal tap?

Take care,
Deb

Yes I have the exact same sensation as you describe, in both arms for months now.  Currently much more pronounced in my L now with my current relapse and very tight, the feels like it's swollen but it's not feeling, in my L hand.

Also the skin is so hypersensitve that the graze of fabric from my sleeve drives me up the wall.

Objects feel extraordinarly sharp against the palm and fingers of my L hand.

I'm glad Motrin is working for you.  I am taking ibuprofen for my shots, headaches, etc and it seems to have no impact on this sensation.  I'm now on Neurontin but I suspect too low of a dosage for it to help, since it's not.

I have found wrapping my arm snug but not tight with a compression bandage helps, esp so I can sleep.  Seems counterintuitive, since the area also has a sensation of tightness, but for some reason it works for me.

It sounds like nerve pain - but since Motrin is relieving it, I wonder if it really is?  As Deb says, there are many mimics of MS.

I also have the cold feet.  They are not actually cold, if I touch them with my hand I realize they are not.  But my perception is that they are cold.  It's like they are cold on the inside.

ps: I am getting the strange display with this post as well.
