My ribs hurt so much!!

by uk2, Feb 11, 2009 04:19PM
Hi All

Still suffering from these spasms/muscle contractions the diazapam 3 times a day has helped with the feet and hands but my ribs are so bad i feel like i cant breath its like a tight band round my ribs i've had this before a few years back but i had the bouts of body spasms about 5 times in 2 years lasting 3 weeks the longest.

I have them on my face and jaw but the ribs or muscle around the ribs are agony at times unless i lay completly still but even then spasm in my back kick off.

My dr has asked for urgent appointment with neuro but nothing seems to be happening i'm trapped in bed as everytime i try and move i get so much pain in my rib area tummy and legs it all feels like lead.

i know noone can help and i've been posting abit over past few days but i am wanting to know what to do and trying to stay positive and look after my 3 kids!!

please give me some advise, or cheer me up!!!

Hi Sam,
I've not experienced the hug in its full fury but the little touches I have had are enough to let me know you have to be very uncomfortable.  Just a question - not sure if it qualifies even as a suggestion - have you tried meditation and/or deep breathing exercises ? I wondering if that movement might not help to stimulate the muscles to relax.... just a totally off the wall thought like I said.

Do you have any family or friends that you can ask to help with the children while you wait out this episode? I hope the doctor gets you in soon - perhaps a round of steroids would give you relief.

Again, all of that is just guessing on my part, but i hope something works for you.

my best,
Lulu
