NMSS Walk / Run.......

  Hello Friends,
I hope that everyone had a nice weekend.
Yesterday, was our National Multiple Sclerosis Walk / Run here in Florida (In my City)
The weather was great and it turned out well. It was quite sad to see just how many
people (both young and old) who are affected w / this disease.

Some in wheel chairs, some not, some w/ walkers, some just barely walking but continuing
to push their limits and walk. Some looked as if they were in a great deal of pain. Others content
(at the moment)  and accepting of this disease.  Some wearing shirts w/ pictures of their loved ones
on the back of it saying "In Memory Of". Then I think to myself as I look around, that as bad as I feel,
and as much pain and dizziness, and other symptoms that I have.........There are so many so much worse
off then I.

There are truly so many different faces of MS. But yet we are all the same in some special way.
I pray for a cure for this aweful dreaded disease. And I pray for one in our lifetime!

Love to you all,
~Tonya

I guess that I should have added that this too was my "First" Walk.
I too had organized a team and (2) of the teamsters were my (2) little
granchildren ages (4, and 2). they had a lot of fun :)

SG40:  I also have to admit that I did some of that "Bench Walking"
as I was having some B/P  problems that morning.

Lulu: I too think that it is great that we are putting in an effort to
help and find a cure for this MiSerable disease. even if you are not able to walk (which there are many who can not), we can always make a small donation. I am on Face Book and have say 50 friends.........If all of those FB Friends donated JUST $5.00 ...........think about it ;)

Our local walk is April 17 - and I am anxious for the date to get here.  With the help of our local alumni group, I have organized a walk team in honor of our former president, who has lived with MS since 1989.  So far there are almost 40 people on our team.  :-)

Good for all of us to get off our duffs and try to do something positive!  BTW this is also my first walk.

be well, be active,
Lulu

We did the Walk here in Central Florida about a week ago. I was too bad off to walk - but I did sit on a bench in the park (where the walk started) while my family and friends walked. We called mine the bench-walk. It was my first - I hope to be able to actually WALK in it next year. It was still a wonderful experience, and felt great doing something for our cause.

I am walking in the NMSS walk here in WA in April.  This will be my first walk for MS.  I am looking forward to meeting some wonderful people!

Hope our weather cooperates - April in WA is usually pretty wet!   uh now that I think about it....it rains all the time here in Seattle so I guess April isn't special!!  :)

Thanks for sharing your experience!
Hugs,
Chrisy
