Neuro said not have MS, but not explain brief numbness

2 mo. ago had brain MRI for mild headaches.showed UBO s. Neuro Dr say not look like MS. had spine MRI, was normal.Started with brief lightheadedness, and numbness left side in face hand and foot, that are brief but reoccur.  In adition to frequent mild tension headache still.  So did a EMG of left limbs normal. Dr. says not MS, and no reason to go on to Evoked potential test or lumbar puncture. Dr.'s only suggestions was try a anticonvulsant (Nuerotin) for 2 months to see if symptoms stop, on theory may be migraine.  Or may be dental!? Did not yet take neurotin.
SO I AM WORRIED IT MAY BE FIRST CLINICAL SYMPTOM OF MS, and that I risk more damage without treatment.
But my Dr says not MS and not want more tests. (could do MRI in 6-12 mo). Would spinal fliud test for antibodies or bands, or VEP test confirm or eliminate MS possibility?  What should I do, short of just waiting untreated for another symptom or MRI finding (meaning more damage if it is MS)
ALSO WONDER HOW MRI CAN SHOW IF UBO IS DEMYLINIZATION.  OR ARE ALL UBOS DEMYLINIZATION, JUST NOT NECESSARILY FROM MS.
I sure hope someone can help me with this. The headaches and moving numbess and MS issue have me worried all the time dispite the DR. saying "not MS".  I read others waited 5 years for a MS diagnosis after first symptoms, what would take so long? I sure don't want that to be me, when i could be treated in that time. HELP!

You mentioned headaches.  At one point my doctor me that complex migraines can cause the symptoms you are having!  They thought that is what I had but then I had the symptoms even without the headache.

Hope you find a reason for  your symptoms - it can be frustrating to search.

I too, have given the no MS. dx.   However the symptoms persist.  I was having facial pain and was prescribed neurontin.  Although I have a few bouts of pain, lasting an hour to 10 minutes a few times a day.  It is no where near the pain I used to experience.  I was taking 10-15 advil a day.   I take a very low dose and once I got used to the medication I feel great.     I still have numbness and dullness in my arm and leg but at this point I am at a "wait and see" point.  Although all tests results have come back neg, I have all the classic signs of MS.    It is still possible, but at this point, I am hopeful.

Brief numbness can be minutes or hours, some times my face, or hand, or foot or arm. headache issue so mild, no necessarily a headache with the numbness

Hi I am not diagnosed with anything, but I have been in this process for at least a year and a half,   ;)

What do you mean when you say "brief numbness"?  are we talking minutes, hours?  does it move around? Is the headache on one side of your head? Does it happen before the headache and then clear up when you get the headache?

I am a migrainer and I get dizzy, dreamy/ funny feeling before I get a migraine, but once the headache hits I don't notice this stuff anymore. I have been getting these feelings and taking medication to stop the headache and it also clears these feelings. Sometimes it takes a while for the headache  to hit me.
