Never Experienced this before with my Finger tips!!!!!

Can someone please give me some insight regarding finger tips, can this be part of MS.

I went food shopping the other day with my hubby . I picked up 2 things from the fridge section. Within less than a minute my fingers tips went icey cold & I then had a bad case hot aches, the pain was horrible, I put my hands under my arms to try & get warmth back in & get rid of this horrible pain, which lasted a good 10mins or more. But I have never experienced this before especially when just doing shopping, only when I had snow ball fights when I was alot younger.

I do suffer with numbness on my fingers tip. They do go cold now & then. But then a few hours later after my fingertips did that, I suffered a really really bad spasm attack on my back going towards my front, so far since I have been taking the Baclofen this has helped my spasms alot, my head then decided to have a funny turn again.

I am just wondering is this another symptom to put on the list & inform my doctor, even though I hold out much hope now!!!!

I was dx with raynards syndrome and that is a auto immune condition that effects the blood vessales in the hands feet and sometimes even lips, it makes the hands change colour from norm, white, blue, red not always in that sequance and causes an aching and cramp type of pain, mine got better once i stopped smoking, gave up caffine and changed my diet also i take extra care around fridges and freezers and if its bad wear gloves to handle things mine is now only bothersome in the winter when i then make sure i wrap up warm always wear cloves.

your dr or a rhematolgist would be able to dx this.

Hi, I just got back from a visit with my gp and just told her about my fingertips going numb and she told me that it is a symptom of a neurological disease. (which is what ms is) I also told her about me being so cold and how it makes my pain more unbearable and she said having an autoimmune disease will cause some people to feel that way. She also said that I needed to address all these things to my new neurologist when I see him in Aug. It is something how you can read a post and know exactly what the person is talking about because the same thing is happening to you..... I have been told by a neurosurgeon that he thinks that I have ms and the radiologist who read my brain mri said I had ms but I have not gotten a solid diagnosis from my new neuro yet. I have only seen him once and he wanted me to have repeat mris because the films that I brought to him were 2 years old. I see him again in Aug and hopefully he will come out and tell me what the hell is going on with me and my body..In the meantime all we can do is hang in there........ roncart

My fingers don't do the cold thing but my feet are a different story.  They can go from burning to hurting because they feel so cold.  Heck sometimes they burn and feel cold at the same time...like you described.

I even told my GP about my feet.  He made me take my socks off so he could check them.  he said they were warm to the touch.  I told him I didn't care because to me they felt so cold they hurt.  He sent me for an ABI to r/o PAD.  The ABI was normal.  So it is just one of those mixed signal things our brains can do.  Nuerontin helped somewhat.  Now I find myself thinking my shoe has gotten my foot wet...like if you stepped in a mud puddle in tennis shoes.  Needless to say my foot is not wet.  I am just learning to live with it.

That being said any new symptom that is not life threatening should be reported at your next dr visit.  If it something serious, as in loss of function, tell someone immediately.

That is my opinion.  Smiles, terry
