New symptoms

Hello,  I hope everyone is feeling well.  Over the last few weeks I noticed some oddities and wondered if anyone has experienced these things or knows what they're called.  I try not to google symptoms anymore. Slippery slope. More comfortable to get info through conversations.

I was in bed a few weeks ago, went to remove my socks and ZAP.  The lightest touch on my ankle produced a very jolting electric shock sensation.   It lasted a few weeks, then I noticed the same thing on a couple of my fingers on the same side of body.

Also, I keep losing my voice or it sounds very hoarse after talking for more than ten minutes. I'm a teacher so this one is killing me.  I figured it might have something to do with my neck and throat muscles, which are in a constant state of spasm.

The last new thing is that when I walk fast I get hot way too quickly even if it's cool outside.  I'm used to the tingles but now there's itching along with it.

I haven't been diagnosed yet because it's still just one lesion, although on my most recent MRI it is showing more hyperintense than before. . I don't know what that means.  Thought they'd found another lesion but it turned out the radiologist misinterpreted.

At this point I feel like MS should have been ruled out because I have a negative LP, normal Albumin ratio and igg index.  But what keeps me wondering is the number of people in my family with MS.

Thanks much for your thoughts and support.

Thanks so much for your input.  The hot shower does this for me as well, pretty much all over body until I cool off.

Thanks again,

be well.

Hello, Fugue:

I can comment on two of your symptoms.

1.) Tingling after walking briskly. I get it only after stopping and from the waste down. It subsides relatively quickly.

2.) This one is new for me too. I had it twice this week after a hot shower. It strikes my whole body - not at once just goes from place to place - and subsides once I cool down.

I hope you find answers.

Best,
Eric

Hi Fugue - I'm not familiar with the symptoms you describe, but I want to mention the test results you mention.

Negative LP's do not necessarily rule MS out. Neither do the blood levels listed. There are no biomarkers for MS. If you are continuing to experience neurological symptoms I would pursue all possibilities.
