New symptom...strange pain in left leg

Last night I was driving and all of a sudden my left upper thigh started to hurt.
I have never had real "pain" besides muscles spasms since this all began.

I'll try to explain.
It feels like a throbbing that comes and goes and if I touch the area, it is extremely sensitive.
Almost like my skin hurts.  It's hypersensitive.
Like a sunburn.  It hurts when you touch it, but it is not a sunburn.

When I touch my right thigh it is normal.
It is not excruciating but it is painful enough to notice.

Just another symptom to add to my non diagnosis.

On another note, the ms specialist didn't write me off, he said he wants to continue following me.
My ake is that he doesn't have enough proof yet to diagnose.

I am seeing a new neuro soon so I can get this straightened out.

Thanks for the support.

TN is trigeminal neuralgia and is related to facial pain.

I have this, too, but the weirdest thing is that my skin will hurt in several locations after a migraine attack.  For me, it appears unrelated to MS; however, yours sounds more like parethesia related to MS.

I also will get a skin hurting problem on one side of my face.  I can localize it to one area and if I touch the area lightly it hurts.  I've had several bouts of TN which I think this caused the problem.

Hi,

I also get the pain in the upper thigh and groin area.  Most times it is just a constant throb but then there are times when I get stabbing pain and spasms.  When it is at its worst I can feel it from the tailbone across my buttocks into the hips and down my thighs.  Just a constant ache.  It truly is exhausting to have constant pain.  I intend to write down all my symptoms, timelines, etc and present all of it at my first neuro appt on Sept. 30th.  I get the hypersensitivity on the outside of my thigh.  going to sit sideways on the couch just about has me in tears.   good luck with you neuro.

Kerri,
I'm glad you're getting a second opinion.   2 brains are better than 1.   And PLEASE there's no pun intended there.
I, too, have had pain in my upper thigh and groin area...and for some time.   Not hypersensitive skin as you describe but more like an arthritic ache, sometimes throbbing, that seems to be worsening and is effecing my gait.  I would almost say that if this pain weren't there, I'd have no symptoms I couldn't handle.  This ache is debilitating and annoying.  I'm not sure it's related to MS but it's sure on my list to discuss when i get to my neuro appt.
Good luck to you.  I hope you feel better.
