No pain from an injury?

No pain from an injury?

Has any one ever experience this? Just last fall I had cut my finger with a table saw right down to the bone and never felt it but after seeing all the blood I was looking for were I had cut myself even just a few weeks ago I had dropped a wall on my left are braking a lot of the small blood vessels on impact and it had swollen up so bad the ER doc said they may have to cut along the veins to help relive the swelling but yet I can still feel the everyday pain from my muscles, joints and so on.

I think that the pain fibres on the skin for cuts (which you are not feeling) maybe different from the ones that control muscle pain.

That is bad, not feeling injuries.  You'll need to be careful about getting hurt.

Hope you're feeling better.

Pain or the perception of pain has changed dramtically for me.  I have only had MS for 2 years, yet the pain I have felt in my knees and my feet for the past 30 years has been so altered by the MS that I really don't feel pain per se but a different sensation.  My feet will buzz and sear instead, my knees will creak and ache in a much different way.  Its interesting how MS has changed how my pain feels, which in a strange way is a silver lining to this disease.  I also had IBS for years before MS and that has gone away too.

The neurologist I saw told me I was not feeling pain like a "normal" person.  That was a surprise to me.

I recently had a splinter fairly deep in my foot. I had no idea it was there until I ran my fingers across my foot with lotion.  I felt a bump and saw it was red and infected.

It is something to keep an eye on.

Akcowboy....that is really scary!  Those are very serious injuries!

Oh thank God here I was wondering if I was alone on this, but at less if I get mauled by a brown bear maybe I will feel little pain as we tend to get them around salmon season a lot and some as big as my horses in wight lol
