Numb on waking -- not MS?

I'm in limbo waiting for any word on the MRI I took a week ago (probably waiting til May 10th when I see the neuro).  But this morning I had a new symptom which made me think maybe the things I've been experiencing aren't MS and thought I would ask here.

When I woke up I was numb on my right side from about mid-rib cage to knee.  The vast majority of my symptoms have been on my left side, so this is new, and also I've never had numbness there (it's been face and feet so far).  Then when I got up and walked around, the numbness disappeared.  To me it seems like numbness wouldn't go away so quickly if it was MS related.  So does this mean I should be looking at something circulatory or blood related maybe?  Or do people with MS have this?

Any advice is appreciated.

Hi there, My numbness does the same to some degree in my arms and legs, If I stand still for even a short period it comes back and carrying bags in my hand makes them go numb. But not on my face that is a bit better after a few hours of lying down but comes back within minutes when I get up.

I'm not dx neuro dosen't know what is wrong, but I have wondered the same as you, whether we are looking at the wrong area of medicine.

Sadly no diagnosis at this point.  Still waiting.

I was just hoping that numbness that went away after getting up and moving around might indicate that all the symptoms I've been having aren't MS and could be something circulatory.  Wishful thinking probably, but worth a shot.

HI...being numb could be a disk pressing on a nerve in the cervical spine....there r other conditions like that , that can cause numbness.Do u have a MS dx?
