Nystagmus

What can anyone tell me about gazing nystagmus?  I'm somewhat confused.  Regardless of what causes Nystagmus would it be associated with MS?

I do have an ENT appt. Thursday morning, October 8 to see about the vertigo.  I'm interested in hearing from you guys on what tests are good to have to determine if vertigo is from ms or just plain ear problems.  I've heard the test with water and air in the ears is torture.

I appreciate any input.  I'm still waiting on the new Neurologist to approve my visit with him.  It may be as long of a wait as January.  I just pray that my nerves will last.  I'm very discouraged and depressed with all the symptoms and everyday brings a new pain.

Thanks again for your advice!!!!!!

AMO is right.  The VNG is the test for you.  I don't remember any water, just warm air, and it wasn't bad.  I had a very bad case of vertigo years ago, and have Benign  Positional Vertigo now, my neuro says.

There are times, when I am tired, that I get the 'binocular' nystagmus when I look down to read.  And he said I had a bit of nystagmus the last time I was in his office.  My audiologist has observed vestibular nystagmus in her office (I wear hearing aids for sensorineural hearing loss).  But I don't know enough about gaze-evoked nystagmus to tell you anything, I'm sorry.

Did a doc tell you it's what you have?

I hope you feel well, and like AMO said, that you get a speedy referral!
