Just saw this - I am so glad to hear that Reggie is home! I will be thinking of you both & hope that he continues to get better with each day.
Hugs to you both!

Maybe I am a dollar short and a few days late, But you are always in my Prayers.
I am so happy to know your little guy is now home with his Mommy.
My New Kitty " Giuseppe" is at the Vets today loosing his Kitty "ManHood" He'll be four months old the 12Th, so it was necessary. But I still worry about him because he is so small and doesn't understand.
They (animals) really do become our "Babies" don't they.
Have a Beautiful Week

I hope he continues to improve.

Glad you got your baby back home. Since I'm on Prednisone it reminded me of Seinfeld where Kramer was taking same meds as the dog since he had same symptoms. :)
Well that sounds better news and hope that you have managed to get some rest.It is quite exhausting when someone or in your case your beloved dog is ill. You do not realise how much your energy levels are depleted by stress until you just stop and begin to relax a little. Then it all hits in and the exhaustion takes over..so listen to your body and take care.
Love, hugs and more prayers
Sarah
I'm so glad Reggie is back home! I hope he continues to improve quickly!!

Hi Shell,
Am sooooo pleased that your little Reggie is back home.
It's really upsetting when something happens to our dear little friends - prayers again that he will soon be back to normal.
Hugs,

Hi there,
I brought baby boy home tonight. He's on a few meds including prednisone, so least I know how he's feeling, ha/ah
He's doing SOOOO much better. The coming days will tell so much. If the diarrea keeps up we will have to switch gears, but for now he's at only a couple times a day and Dr. said 1/2 cup can be dangerous, so to just keep watchful eye on him.
I know I said it before, but I truly have held onto each and every word you have all said. You reassured me, made me smile, gave me hope and just wrapped your love and support around Reggie and I and I want to thank each and every one of you.
I'm so tired and am going to rest up myself and get back with you all in the coming days.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!

I feel with you. I don't know anything about dogs (my baby is a bluetongue skink)- but I can imagine how you must feel and am so very sorry this is happening.
You have got all my wishes and good energy for Reggie and I hope he will be well again soon- and whatever it is it isn't anything dangerous and can be treated well.
Take care!!!
(((Shell))),
I am saying a prayer for Reggie and hope things will take a huge turn for the better.
Thinking of you,
Michelle
I am hoping today is bringing you and Reggie some good news?
It really sounds like you have a great vet and staff, which is essential in a time like this!
My pooch is so funny with people and since my last vet had a brain annurism (sp?) she has changed towards big dogs and Dakota doesn't feel safe with her anymore. I guess when you have a little guy it's a little easier to find people that are more comfortable than with a 95lb dog. They also tend to get into things that you don't think of, things that fall onto the floor that they nibble up from the nooks and crannies.
I really hope it's all good news from here on out and that he is feeling better soon!
Hugs and prayers from me and Kota! MeLissa
I'm wishing Reggie well! I'm glad to hear that the scans went well, and I'm hoping the antibiotics will start working their magic soon. I'll be thinking of him.
Praying for you and the little guy, shell. Annie & Bandit asked me to pass a message on, but I had some trouble with the translation. We'll work on it. God bless.
Shell,
For what it is worth Maltese are the hardiest dogs pound for pound known to Veterinary Medicine. They survive more things other dogs do not.
It could be serious and it could be something digestive which resolves. In April my 13 year old dog who has cancer had bloody nasty stuff. I made arrangements for my husband to go with me to take him in because I thought it was the end. He recovered and is fine.
It could be something like Hemalitic Anemia where the blood cells attack themselves. This can be stabalized and managed with medication. What ever Reggie has is serious but lets hope they can figure it out and it is treatable.
Alex
I am glad you posted a followup for us. I have been wondering how he was doing.
My babies are 4 pounds, too, so I truly understand the risk of him not eating and how quickly it can become dangerous....especially if he also has diarrhea.
They do have him on IV fluids, yes?
Addi
I'm just reading this now and hanging on to each and every word. They checked the glands fairly immediately and they were in good shape, no problems.
The scans didn't show anything in the stomach. You are all so smart, because much of what they say is possible digestive, and inflammatory in nature. They are treating him with two antibiotics, one being an antinflamatory. Two additional meds so the meds don't hurt his stomach.
I went to see him last night and the liquid comig out now is green, I hope just from the meds. And, it didn't seem to be as much as before when it was blood. thank god it's not blood anymore.
He's not well by any means. He won't eat, and is very lethargic. I'm worried, and they are concerned with him not eating too because at 4 lbs, he can't afford to lose.
Reggie is a full bred Miki (not akc), a rare toy breed with ancestors from the penang japanese chin, maltese and papillion). He's just a doll. I'm waiting on a call from the Dr. this morning and I hope they say he can come home.
I'm still so sad, but I'm still praying and I cannot describe how much all of your words mean to me.
Thank you all so much,
shell
Hi Shell, any news of Reggie. I went to church this morning and thought of you in my prayers.
Love Sarah xxx
I hope that your Reggie is okay, thinking of you!
Hugs,
Udkas.
Shell, I just saw this for the first time. I'll be praying for Reggie and you, and sending you warm thoughts.
I have a deep understanding of how you must be feeling, and my heart aches for you and your baby boy. I hope and pray that he is comfortable and improving.
Loving hugs,
Kathy
Just checking back in to see if you have any news on your little baby. I am thinking and praying for both you and Reggie hope all is well soon.
Hope he is doing fine.
I got 3 and i know the feeling.
Hi,
I am praying for your dog.
Rectal bleeding is a very concerning sign for your pooch. Possibly he did eat something he should not have. The ultrasound will show what is in his tummy. Sometimes, I believe they will do surgery, if you want them too.
I know exactly how you are feeling.....

Hi Shell,
I join in with everybody else wishing a quick recovery for Reggie. My childhood dog, Jake had a similar problem, turns out he ate something out of the trash can. As soon as it passed he improved and was good as new.
Keeping you in my prayers as well Shell!
With hugs and prayers,
Ren
