OT-Summer Fun

Maiden Voyage: Inflatable Kayak: combined REI dividends. Picnic lunch:made at home. Gas in old Prius w/234,000 miles: 1/3 tank. Keeping butts in said kayak through "Satan's Cesspool" and "Hospital Bar": PRICELESS!!!

I was with DH, my sister, and her partner for fun, support, and running shuttle.  They TOTALLY get it!  They'd eddy out frequently between sets of rapids so we could rest, yak, and cool off in the water, and PACE ourselves so I wouldn't get too fried too soon!  Gotta love 'em!

I'm still flat on my @ss today, recovering, but that's kinda how I work - have fun, and pay for it for a few days...Oh, Well!

All of that sounds awesome!  I'm glad that you were able to get out and have some fun.
I remember the first time I went boogie boarding in CA - I'm sure it wasn't as dangerous as as Satan's Cesspool.  And when I lived in the Seattle area I always wanted to try kayaking.  It seems like everyone had a kayak.

Have you ever watched, Three Women Three Hundred Miles?  It's about 3 women who go boogie boarding down the Colorado River throught the Grand Canyon in the winter.  You might want to check it out.  I think the proceeds from the film were going to a woman who had transverse myelitis.

It sounds like you had a great time... I know how it is about having some fun and paying for it for the next few days... I'm doing that myself... lol... Thank you for sharing with us, it's nice to hear that us MS'ers can still go out and enjoy life... It's not always doctors and medicines...lol

Love and Prayers,
Carol

What a fun day trip, GG. It sounds well worth the exhaustion to get out and have this kind of adventure.
