Optic Neuritis, again?!

HI all,
I am back with another question. A quick bit of history...Sept 29, I was diagnosed with optic neuritis. I had other symptoms at the time, right leg weakness, let drag, parts of face and lips numb, dizzy, light headed etc. After many tests, MRIs, 2 neuros, the 2nd an MS specialist. My diagnosis was lots of spine and neck issues, with a severely bulging disc in my neck. I have an appt next week to see a neuro surgeon, the MS neurologist referred me too. She said I am at risk for MS, and need to come back next year to have another brain MRI and see her again, unless anything develops sooner. OK, all set.  My brain MRI, showed 1 lesion and the Optic neuritis, and that is why I am at risk for MS.

Here is the Latest thing that brings me to my question. Today my other eye started having pain. It feels very similar to the beginning part of Optic Neuritis as my other eye did. Just feels achy and is sore to move around. Could this me ON in the other eye??? Could I have another episode so soon? and in the other eye? I haven't called my ophthalmologist yet, I am hoping it will go away, or turn into conjunctivitis. (That must sound ridiculous to hope for pink eye!)

Just wanted some thoughts on this, thanks,
Michelle

Michelle,

Good luck tomorrow.  I've not read anything about preventing it, sorry.

Hope it's not ON, and just a cosmetic, or fluke, or something.

Let us know how you make out,

I am going to get my eyes checked tomorrow with the ophthalmologist. I was not on steroids for the Optic Neuritis 2 months ago. Think I got it checked out a couple weeks to late perhaps, and maybe the steroids wouldnt have helped than? I will ask the ophthalmologist whether she thinks I should call the Neurologist and let her know about the other eye starting up. (I am still hopeful it is conjunctivitis though...although in my heart I am thinking it is my 2nd episode of ON in my other eye). We will see tomorrow.
Michelle

Anyone have recurrent Optic Neuritis here? What can they do to prevent it? anything?

thanks for the reply shell. Yes, I know, call the ophthalmologist. I am not a good patient at all, but I will call tomorrow if there is still trouble brewing. So far, no signs of conjunctivitis, and the pain has been about the same all day. Thanks for the advice,
Michelle

But, do call just have it looked at, no biggy, right?
