I'm fairly sure MS does not 'become' progressive relapsing, as this form is present from the outset, though not always recognized as such. MS can and often does go from relapsing remitting to secondary progressive.
Also, what steroid were you given? Surely not prednisone. No one can take 10,000 mg a day of that, and 1,000 is enormous.
Hi there,
I had ON as my first easily recognisable symptom. I was on lots of painkillers and anti inflammatory drugs at the time for something else, so was largely saved the pain.
My sight came back after a few weeks to about 90-95% after about a year. Colours are still a bit faded.
My Opthalomologist said optic nerve damage was permanent but would only see how much once the attack was over. Recovery/remission was highly likely to a good degree - I was able to drive again by about 6-8 weeks.
However, I am RRMS - have you been told PRMS now?
I'm wondering if you've had a meds review? I'm surprised you're on Copaxone as I thought that was a RRMS med. perhaps speak to your MS Nurse or Neuro?
To be honest, others on here have much more knowledge on meds than me, still in my first year of dx.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Hopefully my comment will at least bump you up the list.
