Thanks so much for sharing you info & personal experiences. I believe we almost have to become medical detectives to figure out what is wrong with us.
I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!
Nancy
I also have no ON involvement and was diagnosed with PPMS in 2008.
I forgot to add extreme fatigue at times & a B-12 deficiency.
Slurred speech intermittently, pins & needles sensation all over body randomly, neuroapthy in feet & some in legs, some balance issues, electrical tingling in head, down side of leg, & buzzing under right foot. I also have had a squeezing tightness in my stomach & back. All symptoms are intermittent. MRI showed lesions, second no new ones & third some change. Spinal taps are negative.
You raised an interesting question which is one that I have thought about. I have not had ON and to my knowlledge have had no visual sx. But my VEP tests were abnormal. Does this mean I have just been lucky so far and can expect visual sx to occure in the future, or are these tests just used as a diagnostic procedure?
Cheers, Sarah
Nancy,
I am in the process of being worked up for MS and have no visual symptoms or ON. I just had an evoked potential test where the visual part came back normal but the leg (sensory part) of the test was abnormal.
Just wondering, what are your current symptoms for seeking out a doctor?
Remind me, if I am ever single again, to look for a single physician. Neuro, maybe.
Yeah, I just read about it myself & how ON works. I should have read before posting my Q.
Thanks so much for your answers.
Light purse means less $$$ & heavier purses for providers.
Nancy
Sure. I think it is something like 50-60% of folks with MS also are effected by Optic Neuritis. ON is the most common fist symptom noticed by most MS patients.
Bob
Nancy,
yes. I have MS and have no ON involvement. Although most MS patients have had ON, it is not a requirment.
be well, Lulu
PS maybe we can hit the lottery to help those light purses.
