I remember someone mentioning the Poconos recently.  I just don't remember who.  Maybe it was you?

I've been there but don't live there any more.  I was stationed at Picatinny Arsenal in the land of Newark influnced NJ accents in the late 70's.  It was a groovy time.  I grew up in the more normal speaking southern Jersey region across the river from Philadelphia before migrating to the city for three years of schooling.

I married a Texan but Ohio feels like home now that I've lived here longer than anyplace else.  Seems like a good state to adopt if you're going to end up diagnosed with MS.  There's tons of MSer company until taxes drive all the industry out of state.

I've driven end to end of the PA Turnpike too many times (once was more than enough).  I do have very good memories of visiting my grandmother and aunt at their home in a tiny PA village every Sunday as a kid.  It's a beautiful state.

That's the best I can offer.  Just thought I'd keep you company for a while.  Hope a PA buddy responds soon.

You can do a search of the members of this community for people in your area - the orange icon is one the upper right side of the page.  You can filter the search by state or town, if you want.

if you want to move to Ohio, we'll take you in here!

Wow, I've never met another sole who even heard of the place!  I have no idea what posessed me to mention the arsenal to begin with but his has been a kind of weird day anyway.  I guess I was drawn to this topic for a reason.

After renting half a duplex for a short time we lived in on-base housing.  We had owned a modest but nice home in SC.  When we arrived in NJ, the Texan and I found that we were priced out of even the most basic two bedroom log cabin.

You know Denville and St. Claire's then too?  My son was born there in 1979 and has just recently managed to mature.  He's getting married on the 14th.  (Yet another piece of useless don't-know-why-I-mentioned-it information.)

So it's nice to meet ya MSC.  Do you think anyone still lives in NJ?

I was born in East Stroudsburg/Pocono area and spent alot of time with my grandfather up at the Pocono's, picking blueberries, as a child.  So I guess that you could say that I am from the Pocono area and know it well.

Why do you ask?  Is that where you are from?  PM me if you are and we'll see if we are both familiar about the places around the Pocono's.  Alot of my family is buried in Stroudsburg and my grandfather's house was across the street from the local firehouse, on Sarah Street.
