Polly received her Service Dog credendials from NC

After years of training Polly got her credentials from the State of NC today. I am so happy with her I could hug her to death. I was at a big dog show last week and felt out of place because Polly came from rescue. Now I know I have a dog against all odds. She was returned to rescue and self taught as a Service Dog. Service dogs are supposed to be chosen as puppies and trained by experienced Service Dog Trainers.

Neither Polly or I knows our limitations. Life with Polly is good.

Alex

Rescue Dogs are wonderful!  Most end up in the shelter or rescue through no fault of their own.

Your story with Polly is a shining star to those of us who take unwanted animals.  It proves their life is worth something.

I am sending you and Polly big hugs for your accomplishment.

take care and live well, terry

It's great that neither of you know your limits!  Service dogs are such a special breed - you have done quite the near-impossible with Polly.  Congratulations - give Polly an extra stroke or two from me.

I'm impressed,  Lulu

Hey Alex,

Well done! It was writen in the clouds, fate, you were meant to be together, can't see any other reason for how you found eat other.

BTW it takes a very special pooch to become a service dog, and it also takes a very special trainer, her achievements are a testiment to your determination and patients!

Congrats! :-)

Cheers........JJ

Well done to you and Polly for both of your achievements, it takes a special dog to be able to be trained to do this type of thing and you are right they are usually selected from birth for their suitability and it takes someone who knows what they are doing to train them.

Dally's are very smart dogs, you know I love Dalmatians, I miss our baby, but I don't miss the hair, my god they malt.  Well done to both of you, my daughter trains dogs for a living, she runs animal behaviour classes for problem dogs and she runs normal obedience classes as well as being a Vet Nurse, but guess what, my dog is the naughtiest dog of the lot...lol  My daughter says Dalmatians are very smart, I know ours was, he died of old age a not last Christmas but the Christmas before.

CONGRATULATIONS to you both!!!!
