Some people cannot swallow pills. I am one of them. So I take liquid B vitamins, add liquid trace minerals to my water and, for everything else, I buy capsules, open them and drop the powder into my mouth. People rag on me and give me all sorts of tips on how to swallow pills. I don't pay any attention, By the way, there are a considerable number of deaths every year related to choking on pills. Well, that is one killer that won't get me.
thanks Mary for your response. And yes,, that does seem to be my only swallowing difficulty at this time. :)

I'm not sure my own problems are linked to my MS. I don't have huge problems but when symptoms surface they center around choking easily on liquids I'm drinking or not getting my spit down the right passage and having my trachea throw a fit about it. I'm more aware of handling small portions, chewing completely and how I hold my head position during meals so I don't have a lot of problems then. It's when I'm trying to talk and snack at the same time or not paying attention that I cough and choke.
I don't know that your pill swallowing difficulties are a good measure since most of us learn that process by trial and error (emphasis on error) and make it a much more complex event than normal food swallowing. We seem to think it will require a different process than other swallowing or want one in order to avoid bad tastes or dry meds that stick. Pills are the only swallowing difficulty? Alleluia!
