Any nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity damage (even local) can take a few months to recover..... If you are worried about it go see your Dr. But if this is the only symptom likely it will resolve over time.
Try not to worry too much. Actually MS is pretty rare and your chances are very low.
Thanks for your feedback. I guess I was just putting those things 10 years ago (I'd actually convinced myself then that I had MS) with the thumb thing. I am assuming it would be more common for something to have happened in that 10 year period if those things were MS related (..if that makes sense).
the thumb thing could be something that occurs with MS, but is not likely that it would be the only presenting symptom.
In particular most people with MS have problems with severe fatigue.
MS is often a diagnosis of exclusion. This means that the symptoms seen with MS can also be seen with many other conditions, and those other conditions have to be ruled out first.
Keep the thumb thing and what happened 10 years ago separate. If you are worried any furhter you are welcome to visit us here anytime.
With just the thumb burning sensation, it is likely to be something local limited just to the thumb.
MS usually presents with a range of symptoms that wax and wane over time.
