Post for our group RE: ShadowSister, Pump Problem

by ShadowsSister, Aug 22, 2009 03:41PM
Hi Gang...
I had a meeting with my "Old Pain Management DR... He was never informed by Medtronic that my pump was known to have defects... He is arranging for the two of us to meet with Medtronic Rep this coming Wed.
Dr.____ swears he never put Baclofen into my system, I need to believe him at this point.
I am meeting with another Pain Management Dr, just to be sure he is informed about the problem with this pump model. If Dr_____ wasn't told then chances are neither was this Dr...

I am hanging in there the best I can, I can't continue to hold on to all my mistrust and anger... It will destroy me if I don't start to let this stuff go...

I want to thank all of you for your out pouring of Love, care and support... Please know it works both ways, I am here for each of you also...

I'll keep you all informed as what is going on....
Remember it is so important to take a ACTIVE PART in your care...I will from Now On...
Lesson Learned!!!!

Love & Hugs to all of you {{{{{~!~}}}}}}}

great wisdom that we all need to remember from time to time, especially me!  thanks for passing your lesson on to us all.

i will say this, as i'm reminded from time to time, "trust but verify, trust but verify"

It looks like your pain med doctor is sweating bullets right now.  If he is being truly sincere when he told you he wasn't informed about the pump, then what can you do but want to believe him.  But still that is no excuse for him not knowing about it.  It is his professional responsibility to keep up on these types of things. We as patients trust our doctors and we should not have to worry that we are getting faulty or discontinued devices.  That is what we trust our doctors to know.

With that said, the next step is to see how the meeting turns out.  Please let us all know how that turns out.

In the meantime, you take good care of yourself and know we are all thinking about you.

Love and many hugs,

Julie

You are shining example to all of us with your wisdom and insight on so many things. Your decision to let go of some the mistrust and anger so that you can get yourself better is something we can all learn from.

Wishing you the best and hopefully some sort of good ending to this issue. You remain in my thoughts.

Hugs,
Ren

Thanks again for your support. Julie you are so right, there isn't any excuse for Him not Knowing, he mustn't allow this to ever happen again to one of those in his care... I want to believe I will be a Constance Reminder to him about how he let this info slip by him for so Many Years.... I am hoping some good will come out of all this sh$#@.. Not just for me but for everyone under a doctors care... They are all only human and mistakes happen to the best of them... We must all become more ACTIVE in our care..

Dear friend,
You continue to be an excellent role model for all of us as you move forward, instead of stagnating in this wretched place.  We will all await the next chapter here - but I believe Medtronics must  be held responsible and your doctor needs to do a full accounting for the baclofen billing and pump recall.

take care dear.

Girl Friend, You are so Right.. I am not letting Dr. D or Medtronic off the hook. I will have a new Pump by the end of next month. and I will be kept informed about the Billing Error.. ??? I know I haven't been given all the answers yet, but I won't let them try to slip anything passed me...

Of course I will keep all of you up-dated as to what I continue to find out...

I am not looking forward to needing a third surgery this year, but I have No Choice and neither does my Dr. This time it is going to be very involved because I also want the line attached to my spine replaced... I might have to spend a day or two in the hospital with this, it makes me feel angry that I have to put my body through all this SH$# when it all could have been avoided... but it is what it is.. SO ONWARD AND FORWARD is the direction I am going...

Sleep well and take extra good care of yourself... That goes for everyone in " OUR WONDERFUL GROUP" The love I feel for each of you, surprises even me..  :-)

Praying without ceasing here, my good friend.  A large part of these prayers are prayers of thanksgiving for the example you provide to so many tender souls, on this forum, and undoubtedly in all other facets of your life.  May our great God hold you in His loving hand more than ever before through the challenges ahead, and may you know that, by His grace, we will be here for you through it all.
