Prayer Requests Please
I don't usually do this, but it was a long day yesterday (yesterday is well past over at this point of the night) and I need to ask for a couple of prayers for two friends.
I spent the evening at the PICU with my friend who's 16 month old baby just had major heart surgery. He is doing great (for a little guy with wires all stuck to him), but I am asking for prayers for his mama. She is the strongest person I know and is one to take it all on herself. I went to help her tonight and if I had not forced her she would not even have gotten out of his bed (today was the first day she could lay with him). She is already exhausted and they are going to start getting her son up and moving tomorrow so she doesn't even have a chance to rest before the tough little guy is back home running all over the house. Please pray she will allow people to help her. Like me, she is too stubborn to ask for it.
So while I was at the PICU at 10:15 pm my best friend from my hometown who I have not talked to in 2 years (lost in our lives you know the story) and so I KNOW this is bad. One of our long time friend's fell down his stairs and died today. He was 34 years old. His widow is a girl I was friends with from elementary school through early college. She needs prayers like there is no tomorrow.
Then if it is not too much, can you also throw in a prayer that I do not go into a flare. Tomorrow is gonna be an interesting day. I stopped my DMD two and a half weeks ago because I am switching meds and now it looks like I will be traveling to LA soon :(

Well just to update baby JW is out of ICU and should be up and walking today. They had to give him enough meds to knock an adult out for days just to get him to sleep for 6 or 7 hrs.
Then he got to eat (or drink..mama decided to hold off on weening due to the upcoming surgery) Toughest little guy with a really strong mom. Thank you for your prayers, thoughts and love.
As for the second family, his widow is surrounded by support. I am 4 hours away and I will be waiting for services before I go down, if I can even make it :(
She seems to be handling it ok. She wants people to talk about him and tell stories about him already so that is a good sign. I still don't know the details of the accident. I will find out today I hope. Again, thank you.
As for me...I have 8 Dr s appts in the next 2 weeks. 4 of the are PT which is massage therapy at the moment :) and one is a dentist appt for my son. One is 45 miles away where it is 110 degrees. I am hoping to start my Tysabri somewhere in there too.
How do you keep from going inro a flare? Is there a good site to learn how to meditate. Luckily the first appt is with my PCP on Monday. He is a good listener (if he has had a good day). I ususally see him at the end of the day and he takes his time with me. He will give me something (my med cabinet is running outta room) to calm me I am sure. I have diazapam but I also have a 5 year old and major fatigue so that is not a good combo. Maybe he will give me something for fatigue.

And the miracles of medical surgery to repair heart damage is mind-boggling. Your friend will be better once she gets in the groove again with her little guy. 'just impossible to truly be at rest when your child is in danger.
I'll keep both of them close in thought.
Now for you, please listen to your body and pace yourself accordingly. Adding the stress of all you are going through with your friends, on top of your own personal activities can just wear you down, which is not a good place to be.
Take care and know you're getting a lot of support from all of us.

Prayers winging their way over from England. I shall prya for a speedy recovery of the little boy, strength for his Mum and family and love and support for your friend. They all have tough different journeys ahead but God moves in mysterious ways and I believe gives us strength in even the most challenging times.

I will keep both the baby and his mother in my prayers. This is a tough time for both, but especially for her as every mother's worst fear is for her children's health and safety.
I will also keep this young woman who has just lost her husband in my thoughts. This is such an unexpected tragedy.

My thoughts and prayers are with this friend and all her family as she takes this journey with her son who im sure will do well now they have fixed the heart problems he has had.
So now we turn to your other friend and his family.
What can i say i am soooo sorry this accident happened which resulted in your dear friend losing his life, my deepest sympathy to his wife, family and friends.
I will pray for you all. Take heart in the knowledge that your friend is at home with the lord and also with family and friend who have passed before him.
Take Care and be assured that others feel your pain and send healling loving thoughts to you all in your hour of need.
