Prognosis for Optic Nerve Compression

Prognosis for Optic Nerve Compression

My 5 year old son is being treated for Burkitts Lymphoma/Leukemia.  He had a tumor situated in his sinus cavity that compressed his optic nerves.  With chemotherapy, the tumor is no longer touching the nerves, however he has only regained vision in one of his eyes.  The doctors say that they are still optimistic that the vision in the other eye will return, however it may take 3-6 months.  Do any of you have experience with this?

I'm sorry, I don't have any experience with this.  Just wanted to wish your little guy health and happiness.

Best,
Sadie
