Provigil -- dose and time of day?

Hi all,

My neuro prescribed Provigil for my fatigue.  I was having the typical MS fatigue that so many have described, including trouble staying awake while driving sometimes.

She wrote me a script for 100 mg twice a day.  She told me to start first with just 100 mg in the morning to see how that works, and if it wasn't helping enough, I could add on the other 100 mg.

For the first week it was great!  I felt completely different, as if I had completely regained my life.  Over the course of the second week, my fatigue started to return, though not as bad as before I started Provigil.

I'm concerned about taking the other 100 mg per day because it seems like if I took at at night I would have a hard time sleeping.  Does anyone else take it at night?

The hardest part of my day is 2 pm to 7 pm or so, if that makes a difference.  I've been taking the morning dose at 7 am.

Any advice?   Is anyone else taking 200 mg?  When do you take it?

Thanks in advance,
Jean

I take my entire dose of Nuvigil (225mg) as soon as I get up in the morning.  Provigil didn't seem to last quite a long as Nuvigil but I'd take it at least 12 hours before you plan to sleep.  You are right to NEVER take a dose at night.  It would keep you awake all night.
