Quix - MS and Naltrexone (I'm Desperate)

by grannyhotwheels, Jul 20, 2007 11:42AM
Quix,

My doctor just called me and she wants to start me on low dose naltrexone asap.  She has used this with several of her MS patients with no side effects and all had significant improvements.

My doctor says that she generally tries this first with all her MS patients and only a few have quit taking it and went to the normal MS treatment.

She feels that this is a wonder drug.

What do you think?  Am I waisting precious time by taking this drug instead of the avonex or rebif which she had previously mentioned?  She said that within 2 months we would know if this will help me.

Please help me descide what to do.  I'm scared and feel like I'm all alone on this.  I don't know what all this stuff means.  Who do I trust?

Thank you
Carol

I would love it if my neuro would try the LDN.

As far as the disease modifying meds LDN can only be used in combination with copaxone.

Many that I know that has used LDN has had great success with it.

I honestly would try the LDN,its one pill a day vs the shots.

I'm ignorant about the LDN treatment.  I had heard about it, but thought it might be "fringe" medicine.  Since then I'm not sure at all.  So, it's now on my list of topics (along with chronic Lyme) to research thoroughly.  I know enough about it to know that it won't harm you.  If your doctor is recommending it and she has a good reputation and you have confidence in her, then I say "Go for it!!"  We'll be right beside you and I'll bring along information that I find.

Okay?  I'm glad to see you beginning on something!  Quix

Hi, Carol~

I wanted to wish you luck with your new treatment.  I've been peeking in as my day has allowed.  I know you're apprehensive about it.  Will be thinking about you!
