Quix or wanna

uk2
Hi

having my mri soon and then back to see my consultant i want to take my timeline as i guess if the mri is clear or there not sure i want to show him my timeline so he does not just brush me off.
I posted it under please help! its the 16th post down dated 07/23/07 its a bit messy but do you think it will be ok? (sorry not sure how to do a link straight to a post).I think you have seen it Quix but you didnt say if it was good enough for a consultant to see or not.Know your both busy but would value your opion.

I see others on here have had nerve and muscle testing sometimes before there mri could my GP order that or does that have to be my consultant.

My MRI is on 14th of August but i dont see him untill the 5th of september but this appointment was made before i came down with the numerous muscle spasms and though i have been to see him again since the appoinment has not been changed.

Do you think if he finds something he will bring the appointment forward? Iv heard you should get treatment as soon as possible if it is ms ( bit late i guess as this has been mildly going on since 2000 and maybe before.) Im just worried as i seem to be getting bouts of new sx regularly and still cant get back to work cause of the nerve and muscle pain, i cant help thinking that if he had been more like your consultants in the USA where you seem to be able to talk to them easier that he could of arranged a nerve muscle test or some PT while waiting the 3 months for the MRI but im just left in this limbo land off work in pain and not knowing nothing!!!!

sorry about that moaning just slipped out.

hope your all well

God Bless

Hi, hopre your holiday was a good one.  Your MRI is on the 14th.  I want to talk to you about your worry that it will miss what's going on.  MS is not usually as hard to diagnose as it seem on this forum.  We are a collection of the exceptions, the ones where it is either quite elusive or who have had defective, dufus, and dismissive neurologists.  The vast majority of the 300,000 MS patients in the US and dozens of thousands in the UK were diagnosed on the older machines.

We sometimes act like the older machines are useless.  That is not true, but in the small percentage, that have especially tiny lesions. Go in with good hope that the test will show whatever it needs to.  We're thinking about you!

It definitely sounds like MS to me. They need to try and get you in to dr sooner. Have you tried to get a sooner apt? I don't know how things go in UK, but do thet have a waiting list you can be put on, to get in sooner. Wish you well and some answers soon too.  Karina

Enjoy your trip!  I hope your rest does some good.

Your time line looks much better and more concise.  Good work!  After your trip, take a look at it again and see if you need to make any changes.  (I found mistakes in mine after I had put it away for awhile.)

Again, enjoy yourself.

Hi uk2…here are some ideas for your time line…

In 1996, did firbregel help?

In 1998, what were your test results and what happened?

In 2000, try to bullet your symptoms like:

• Experienced pins and needles in hands/across tummy
• Pregnant with 3rd child and was…

Explain what your sickness was when you were pregnant.

In 2002 and 2003, again, bullet your symptoms.

In 2002, it might be better to say something like “suffered from mood swings, having memory difficulties and was prescribed Prozac.”  And again, use bullets.

In 2005, how long did you try to exercise before you had knee and hip pain?

“May 14th come down with relentless muscle spasm after a day of muscle aches and fatigue” Explain where the muscle spasm was and what was aching.

As the years go forward, continue to bullet your symptoms, and whenever you were given a test, what was the outcome?

When you state "for a while hot baths had made me weak now it was making symptoms worst also hot weather making it worst. Sometimes a hot cup of tea would effect me too have problem with over heating easily" again, state what symptoms are being effected.

You are clearly showing a progression of your symptoms.  You just need to tighten it up a bit and make it a little easier for the doctor to read.  I have difficulty reading, so I judged my time line by my readability…how easy was it for the reader to follow.  I figured if I could get through it, the doctor should be able to.

I had posted my Time Line as an example…it is posted under TIME LINE- Wanna and TIME LINE  Part 2- Wanna and they were posted on 7/27…I also reposted the time line instructions and I just bumped it up to the first page.

I hope this helps you.  See what you can do.  I hope what I have said makes sense.  I'll check back later to see if you need more help.

I can probably get back to you this evening, okay?

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me so soon and offering to help with my timeline your a gem. Your last post made me laugh we should all be haooy!! all the time lol.

Iv not been worried about getting things sorted till now most of my sx have always gone maybe to revisit later but have gone the only thing i had all the time was the pins and needles unpleasant but liveable. I guess since i cant seem to get past this stage and i seem to have bouts every few weeks at the moment i feel i should be doing somthing to stop it insteading of waitng i guess its nature when your body screams out in pain to try and fix it and frustrating when you cant.

Sorry your so weak today and thank you even though you were not well found Quix post for me, thats what is so speical about this site so many special people.

Hope your well soon

This is what Quix wrote:
"I need to clarify something.   What several of you said about the urgency of beginning treatment is not wrong, even though I seemed to contradict it in my post.  Whether the need to begin treatment is urgent depends on the clinical status of the person.  If they are stable and between relapses, as I was, when diagnosed, taking a reasonable amount of time to adjust and look at the therapies makes a lot of sense.  However, it the symptoms are worsening, the person is unstable or  has active optic nerve inflammation occurring, then there is an urgency to begin appropriate treatment.  I just didn't want any of you to think I was changing my recommendations mid-stream."

I hope this helps you.

Hi...I'd be haooy to help you with your time line, but I probbly will not get to it today.  Feeling really weak today.  Would tomorrow be okay?

Quix just posted something (within a day or two) about getting quick treatment but I cannot remember under what thread.  Please try to find that and I believe it will answer your question about getting quick treatment.

I didn't have my nerve testing until after my brain scan.  I don't really know if there is an exact protcol that is followed as to what is done when.  Any one else have a better idea of this?

Moan away...even though you weren't really moaning.  Your concerns are like so many others and that't what makes this forum so great.  We understand one another!

Sorry this is so short..I will check in tomorrow and help with your time line.

And do look for that posting from Quix.  I think it will ease your mind a bit.
