Hey this is off the subject.  But I just thought id ask,

Yesterday I was very dizzy,,, anyway had my Blood pressure checked,, just to make sure, well my blood pressure was great,   120/72

However 2 long bruises,, actually it looks like 2 strait lines of petechiae, very strange, I've taking blood pressures for years and i've never seen this,,

this happened yesterday and it happened immediately after taking off the blood pressure cuff,, I just thought it would go away well this morning its still there just darker,

Probably nothing at all to worry about just thought i'd mention it and ask what you thought?

Hey Ray,

This is strange.  I had the long bruises once too w/the dotted blood looked like petechiae.  Mine happened right smack in the midst of my allergic reaction, and it was on the outside and front of my calves.

Kind of like a drug induced lupus, but that has not been proven.  Just my theory.  I'm sure Doc Q or someone will give more causes of this, but I know mine looked just like what you described, but from a different cause.  

It would be good to see a list of causes of this bruising out of nowhere and petechiae.  Anyone?

this is strange,, today at work they checked a CBC  to check my platelets and they are fine,  It happened right after they took off the blood pressure cuff,, it's on my upper arm, very strange,  anyway i'm sure its nothing just weired.

Sounds like vein tracks!  Sometimes a vein can collapse and make that dark line...

They sound like the lines of petechiae that can come with lines of skin being folded and pinched in the blood pressure cuff.  These form when individual capillaries burst.  Petechiae are more reddish than regular bruising and when you look closely you see that the long line is made up of individual tiny res/brwon dots.  It it is truly a bluish aread like a typical bruise, then that is what it is.

I have gotten the lines of petichiea before.  But, I have nerver been bruised by a cuff.

Your right Quix it is petechiae and i'm fine it was just strange and when your not feeling well and something out of the ordinary happens it just made me wonder.
