Return of feeling

Hi
I'm just wondering how long people have normally taken to get a return of feeling after a relapse?

I lost a lot of the feeling down my left side at the beginning of September and it hasn't yet returned.  I'm hoping and praying it will return as I've discovered that without feeling in the left side of my butt I can no longer ride my horse. I'm naturally very, very upset about this.

Many thanks

Poppy

I totally see you as a cowboy Poppy! Go round 'em up girl. English was always overrated anyway in my most humble opinion :   )

Thanks for all of your lovely comments.  It just about seems like every time I turn around there's something else to deal with.  I lost some feeling when I got sick in June and haven't yet got that lot back so very much hoping this isn't going to be the same.

In the meantime I've now lined up a western saddle to try over the weekend to see whether this works any better.  Fingers crossed.

I agree with JJ but I hope sincerely that your feeling will
return soon. Hope you are back in the saddle soon, Poppy. Sorry you have been having a rough time.

How long is a piece of string............relapses can last for as little as 24 hours to multiple months, but you basically have no way of knowing when or if any of it will resolve, because just like the individuality of the sx's during a relapse, the resulting damage is just as unique to the individual.

I seriously believe in "where there's a will there's a way" so find your way, even if its outside the box, just find your (what ever) way and continue to ride!

Hugs..........JJ

Hi Poppy,
I'm sorry to hear that you are going through a hard time. I had lost feeling in my right side (from belly button round my body to spine) and was worried I would never have any/all feeling in it again. Luckily it came back after about 4-5 months. Don't get discouraged, it can take months. Please keep us posted :)

Hi Poppy,

Of course you're upset about this, it's stopping you from doing something that you love (riding your horse).

As for telling you how long people have taken to have returned feeling after a relapse? I can't help you there. I have not lost sensation completely in anything.

However, I would feel safe to say that everyone's recovery time is different and circumstances.  Doesn't seem that everyone is alike in that process.

I hope that others who have experienced the same thing as you, can chime in and share them.

I hope a speedy recovery for you Poppy.
