SHOULD I WORRY?

HEY,

I'M A FAIRLY YOUNG HEALTHY MAN IN MY EARLY TWENTIES AND RECENTLY WENT ON A TRIP TO MEXICO.  WHEN I GOT BACK FROM MY TRIP I STARTED TO NOTICE SOME TWITCHING ALL OVER MY BODY. I THOUGHT I CONSUMED WAY TOO MUCH ALCOHOL AND SHOULD DETOX. I DETOX FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE WEEKS. THE TWICTCHING STILL DIDN'T STOP.  I THOUGHT TO MYSELF THAT I SHOULD CHECK THIS OUT WITH MY DOCTOR.  I WENT TO THE DOCTOR AND HE SAID TO WAY IT OUT FOR ANOTHER TWO WEEKS AND IF IT DOESN'T GO AWAY WE'LL TAKE SOME TESTS. IT DIDN'T GO AWAY, SO I WENT BACK TO THE DOCTOR AND DID SOME BLOOD TESTS.  BLOOD TESTS WERE FINE.  HE SUGGESTED TO DRINK MORE MILK (DON'T UNDERSTAND CAUSE I DRINK ENOUGH AS IT IS).  AFTER THAT I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT UNTIL I NOTICE INTERNAL BUZZING IN MY FEET AND A LITTLE IN MY CALVES.  THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS, WITH HEAVY MIGRANES AND A LITTLE BIT OF THE TWICTCHING. I FEEL MOST OF THE BUZZING WHEN I SIT DOWN.  MY VISION AND MY MUSCLE STRENGTH ARE FINE, BUT I DO FEEL LIKE "I'M OUT OF IT" OR "ON DRUGS" MAJORITY OF THE TIME. SINCE I TOOK THE ADVIL MIRGANE RELIEF I FEEL A LITTLE BIT OF HELP. SOMETIMES I THINK IT COULD BE STRESS OR ANXIETY OF NOT KNOWING WHY MY FEET/CALVES ARE BUZZING. WENT BACK TO MY DOCTOR FOR A REFERRAL FOR A NEUROLOGIST. I DON'T BELIEVE MY DOCTOR THINKS ITS MS.  MY DOCTOR BELIEVES IT HAS TO DO WITH STRESS.  I FEEL LIKE I'M A LAID BACK GUY AND CAN DEAL WITH STRESS.  ALTHOUGH I DO HOLD A LOT OF STRESS INTERNALLY, CAN THIS POSSIBLY OFF-SHOOT THE TWITCHING?  ALSO SHOULD I BE WORRIED ABOUT THE BUZZING IN MY FEET OR DO YOU THINK IT'LL GO AWAY ON ITS OWN? LASTLY, CAN THIS POTENTIALLY BE MS?

THANK YOU.

MS is a very difficult condition to dx - especially by a regular Doc.  It can manifest itself in so many different ways.  The buzzing feeling in your legs does it feel like your feet have gone to sleep? can you walk properly?  You need to see a neuro for a full examination MRI, lumber and EVP.  How long has this feeling lasted for?

HEY,

At the moment i'm fine.  I can walk on it without any pain........ its hard to know how long it can last.  Goes on and off throughout the day.  First started roughly two weeks ago. Feels like there's a motor in my feet.  I wouldn't say it feels like its fallen alseep.

Did you have any unprotected sex in Mexico?

No, I didnt' have unprotective sex in Mexico.  I think its something though that I consumed while I was in Mexico that is making me react like this.  It started during Mexico and afterwards.  Is it possible that I contracted a virus there?

Go to a major academic center and see an infectious disease doctor. This would be very smart of you.

If, perhaps, before you left for M you did have any unprotected sex I would be concerned for ADEM or HIV. Something to always consider.

This could be an isolated syndrome brought on by virus.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck!
