Saw your question on electric shock sensations

I was officially dx with MS about 3 yrs ago. Recently after surgery I noticed a electric shock burning numb sensation in the back of my arm close to my elbow.  No where near the surgery. Also this sensation can be brought on if I pull the skin under my arm taunt to the floor. Once I let go there is a numb feeling. Since everyone was talking about electric shock sensations, I wondered if this could happen with MS. Waiting to see new neuro in a week.  Thanks

Hi,I,for about 3 yrs, I had a complete numb spot on the top of my right leg, above my knee on my muscle, almost to my waist, ever since then, weird things have been happening.I can stoop down for a minute or so and my ankle will swell, get up, get a little black in the eyes, like blacking out,and the swelling will go away.It seems as though I am losing moto skills, what should I do?I have already lost a part of my left arm function?

I'm sorry I saw someone post a question several pages back and thought I linked my question to that post. Wanted to know what that individual's experiences with this was. Thank you for the information again.

Hi, you asked this question on another thread

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Multiple-Sclerosis/Had-surgery-now-exasterbation/show/1128449?personal_page_id=565196&post_id=post_5189335

and I gave you an answer also.  Did you have more questions or just want to hear from other people?  Jen is right.  You can certainly have that kind of paresthesia in MS.

Hey, KJD...

Electric shock sensations are caused by nerve disruption.  If you have nerve damage, then you'll get electric shock sensations in your extremities - at least the ones connected to the nerve.

So yes, definitely you can get those sorts of sensations with MS.

For three months, I could hit my wrist and my whole arm would feel like I shocked it, and then it would go numb.  Now if I pop my wrist, I get the same sensation.
