look him up, if he's a MS Neuro specialist, it will be noted.
It seems that different places, from MRIs I have looked at, cover different things. Ask around to people who have had them.
I can't justify the "important to stay with the same machine" Why? I'd ask him!
This Dr is asking for the MRI update, as a second opinion to the neuro I saw in 2011 who ordered the first MRI. This Dr. is, by word of mouth locally, the MS Neuro specialist.
I asked about 3T having read about it here. He seemed to think it more important to stay with the same machine I've been on.
But, honestly, when I read some of what others MRI reports say, mine seems to not have that much info. But, then what do I really know?
Because technology advances so quickly, I think there's now an actual difference between a 1.5T with good software, and a 3T.
My personal experience with my first neurologist was disappointing - he kept sending me for 1.5T MRIs because of my weak legs and clonus. I got sick and tired of him 'explaining' why there was nothing wrong with my spine because the MRI didn't show it, and asked him directly for a 3T MRI. It revealed two obvious large lesions, and a wide area of enhancement. Then I switched to an MS specialist! So there you go. You should never have to second-guess your doctor.
