I have seen this type of spasm in my own mother who had MS and in MS patients that I have taken care of in the past.
But as stated above we are not doctors. And it is different for everyone.
Best of luck to you!
Hi. If you have spasms and/or twitching all over your body, it is extremely unlikely to be from MS. That's because the disease doesn't work that way. Lesions in the central nervous system cause individual symptoms, and even though it's not always possible to determine which lesion is to blame, no one quickly develops many lesions simultaneously, all causing the same kind of symptom.
Have you looked into Benign Fasciculation Syndrome? A very disturbing problem to be called benign, but still it is not serious. It's just a suggestion, but might be worth investigation. Also, the muscle movement you describe might be mostly a psychological manifestation, given that you've had other symptoms which at the time were thought to be heart-related. That alone could be scary enough to produce acute anxiety that causes severe physical symptoms. Anxiety and panic can do that.
Please understand that I'm just throwing out ideas here. I'm not a doctor. But I'm also not downplaying what you're experiencing either. I don't know whether or not you have MS, and I think you're wise to undergo testing. It's just that I doubt the twitching part is MS-related.
I'm answering this in the middle of the night because I was awakened by really painful spasms in my right leg that have pulled some muscles to the point I can barely walk. What makes this likely an MS thing is not the pain, because regular charlie horses can be excruciating too, but because the spasms are localized in an area where I know I already have MS damage.
Please keep us posted on developments.
