Spine MRI?

Hi all,
Quick question. I am having a spine and neck MRI on Friday. I had a brain and orbit MRI about 2 weeks ago, and apparently didn't have enough lesions to diagnosis anything. Are lesions more apt to show up in the spine versus the brain? Just curious, thanks! The neuro said I had foot drop/drag, and a weak right leg and foot. That is why she is the doing spine MRI.

Yes, it is important to have both the spine and brain MRI's, with and without contrast.  There are some on this forum that were dx because of the spine lesions when no lesions were showing on the brain MRI.

Sounds like your dr is doing all the right things, and that is good.  Let us know how things go.

I have had mri's on brain & spine also. I have lesions on both. They are good to check both as depending on where the lesions are, they can affect the body in different ways (those nerves get affected which cause different symptoms).

I would not say that they are more likely, but they can show up in the spine even when there are none in the brain.  It is a good thing that they are making sure to check this part out as well so they cover the whole thing and don't dismiss something that may be there in the spine.  So yes lesions do occur in the spine.
