Spine pain

Before being diagnosed with MS I had a lumbar puncture done . I had it done in 2005. My LP took about two hous to do and it was very painful. It's now 2009 and my spine still hurts from having this done. It hurts in the same place the needle went in .I never had any back pain before.  Over years it seems to be getting worse.
I do go to pain management where I am on Percocet. I take 2 pills 6 to 8 times a day .
The pain is amazing and I just want it to end. I keep telling the doctors it's not getting better and it seems they keep coming up with excuses as to why this pain is with me. They tell me it's an old(compress fracture) injury (that I never had). That I have arthritis. That it's my MS. That my back is in a huge spasm.
I want relief from this pain and is it possible to have pain years after the lumar puncture if the person who did it messed up? As I stated before mine did not go very well and the person who done it was getting impatient and frustrated.
Can I get any relief somewhere ?
Could it be MS even though I never had back pain before the LP ?

Thanks for your post. I did have a MRI done and they said nothing was there. My boyfriend and myself can feel a lump on the middle of my spine. I don't know if something like that would even show up on a mri.
I have two kids and my youngest is 18 months. So I have huge moving issues and I don't venture out of the house.

I'm not sure if having the LP damaged something in your spine or not.  I can tell you that I have horrible pain in my back.  On my MRI it showed that from the 2nd to 7th vertebra I have complete demyelination.  I know you know this but just in case someone doesn't, that means that the insulation (myelin) is gone and my nerves are bare. Even just moving certain ways can cause the worst pain I could ever imagine and I've had 3 children.  Have you had anything like that show up on an MRI?  If you did then I can honestly tell you that's what is causing your pain.

It's awful being in pain all the time. We all need to keep praying for a cure or at least something that will give us back some sort of dignity.

I'll be praying,
Carol

I sure wish I could help you with this. I had no idea you were in such pain and I'm so sorry. Maybe someone here will have a good suggestion.

Many hugs,
