Still Blurred Vision (ON) Week after IV Steroids

I was diagnosed with MS due to the eye pain and blurred vision via an MRI, Optic Neurtis.  Did the 3 days of Solu-Medrol and I had NO improvement.  Had my last IV dose 9 days ago, no taper. I have read that most people have immediate improvement.  Can anyone help?  Was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and I am still a mess over this.  Was laid up in bed for 6 days due to the spinal headache and failed blood patch.

My Dr has in my report that I have had ON, but none of my tests (VEP MRI Opthamologist etc) have not shown any signs of it, but I do have terrible vision issues and have had IV treatment several times.

I can tell you that my IV treatments have all had different effects.  I have had treatments that made my symptoms go away within the first week, and treatmets that did nothing for me.

I hope that you find relief very soon.

hi, i also have optic neuritis and have since may 5th, 2010....i have done 2 rounds of iv then oral steroids and still i have noticed only very minimal improvement..i also am worried that i may never regain my full vision... i think my doctor wants to put me on a 3rd round of steroids..but i dont think im going to because i feel like the negative side effects of the steroids outweigh the positives for me. they mess with my emotions.

Thank you so much for your respons.  Sorry to hear that your eye site has taken so long to recover.  Very frustrating, but I would be very happy to just have improvement.  I read it could take up to a year to regain site, but I may never get it back 100%.  You have in there also and thanks!

Don't want to be the bearer of bad news but, I had the same course of Solumedrol and saw no immediate improvement in my double vision.  After ten weeks the double vision began to resolve at arms length, then over the next two weeks resolved to the point of allowing me to drive without one eye patched.  Still have difficulty looking to the side, and at the end of the day when my eyes get tired.  Hang in there!
