Stippled high-density?

Has anyone ever heard of this term when it came to lesions on the brain, or relating to MS?

Exact words from CT scan (without contrast) compared to my Nov. MRI with contrast: Stippled high-density within the basal ganglia noted bilaterally.

If anyone knows what stippled high density means, please share. Thank you!

As I suggested to the other person. Have you done a google search on those terms?  That usually helps me. I get a hit on those terms with a better definition or an image associated with the search terms. Good luck!  Sorry I don't know more!

Is this on a CT scan?

Stippled means "dotted"

High density means more dense than the surrounding tissue.

the basal ganglia are areas deep within the brain that deal with movement - classically involved in Parkinson's and occasionally involved in MS.

Yes, it's from a CT scan I had tonight. I asked for copies of every test I had done, and the doc was then moved on to the next patient, so I wanted to ask if anyone heard of these terms here.

I haven't been able to eat for the last 6 days (lost 7 pounds this week because of it), and for the most part, I've been sleeping all day and night. THEN, every time I wake up, both hands are numb. Within minutes, they go back to normal, but they're stiff, painful and swollen on and off all day. This has been going on since last Sunday, and the ER doc wanted to see if there's anything else going on in my brain to make the numbness happen, such as stroke, ect.
