Stupid Question

I've had a cold for a couple of days.  Today, I'm having more difficulty then usual moving.  My left arm/hand have very little strength.  Could this be a result of just having a cold?

Thank you all for your responses.  It was pretty scary to experience this.  I woke up today able to move better and my arm/hand don't feel funny anymore.  In fact, I was able to hold a cup in my left hand without it shaking or feeling like I was going to drop it.

Since I have PPMS, I thought these kinds of things wouldn't happen to me.  I didn't take being sick into account.

Again, thank you all for your responses.  They made a bad time so much better.  I was very scared.  I hope one day that I'm in a place where I can do for someone what you all did for me.

In fact, viral infections are one of the most common and fierce triggers of a true relapse.  Take your Vitamin D!

This is not a stupid question.  Infections can cause an exacerbation.  Why couldn't a virus do the same ?

I hope with a few days rest, the cold and your symptoms improve.

feel better,

I am going through something similar.  I have a sinus infection and I woke up Friday with my legs heavy and then my left arm was heavy and now its both arms and it comes and goes.  Its not constant.

Someone replied to my thread and said that having an infection can get your immune system fired up and enhance your MS symptoms.  Especially if you have a fever.

Just thought I would share the info that was given to me :)  I was really nervous as well with the weakness so I understand.

But if you feel its something more serious you should def contact your dr.
Hope you start feeling better soon.
