Symptoms with temperature changes?

Hi All
I don't know if what I have is MS, but, I thought I'd ask you if this is a classic sign. Basically, I get very tired and my arm feels rather numb when I get home to my extremely hot apartment, and when I leave the apartment, it's usually much better. And then when I'm outside in the cold my muscles twich uncontrollably, almost like shivering but an exaggerated form of it.  I don't think this is MS because I remember reading (And correct me if I'm wrong) that cold actually improves MS symptoms -- it's the heat that makes it bad.
Next, On the Wikipedia page for MS they have a diagram that says the different parts of the body that are affected by MS. One of the parts is the heart but I don't understand what they're saying.  I've had pain in the heart for a long time now and the doctors have no idea whats causing this pain. Is that related to MS?

What do you all think of this?

Well this is good timing. I just saw my Neurologist on the drug trial this morning and asked if it is possible that our bodies are more affected by the cold if we have MS. We are having a very very cold time here in England with snow and ice very early and it is freezing.
I have been really feeling the cold far more than usual so it is not that it has changed any symptoms...just that my perceptions of cold and ability to warm up seem to be affected.

Ho hum, perhaps it is just me but glad to read JJ's comments

Heat sensitivity is more commonly known but cold temperatures can also affect MS, if the lesion is in the part of the brain that controls/perceives temperature then it can affect either or both. Heat sensitivity alone isn't necessarily MS, try hydrating and cooling your apartment down, the heat from my understanding is interfering with nerve signals which is why the numbness happens, its the opposite of hyp-O-thermia.

I had a quick look at the wiki site to see what heart sx you could be talking about, i think you maybe misunderstanding the diagram. The lines pointing to the chest/breast is headed as 'sensations' and lists a)pain b) hypoesthesia c)paraethesia which are not associated with the heart. MSers can have heart issues just like any other person but its not a sx of MS.

Cheers........JJ

I don't know if you have MS either but I can tell you that both heat and cold bothers me.  In the winter when outside I shiver uncontrollably.  I am fatigued after an outing.  There is a lot written on heat and how it affects those with MS.  I have read little on how cold affects our bodies.
