Tests are done for now and all is well.

Just a quick post to let everyone know that my LP and MRI are done, and all went very well.  No headache whatsoever!  The people at EMMC (Eastern Maine Medical Center) are so very kind and thorough about explaining everything and answering questions.  I had the MRI (thoracic w/contrast) in the AM and the LP at noon.  They kept me in a room to recover from the LP for 4 hours.  Continuously checked my BP, got me lunch - that was tricky laying flat on the bed!  I rode home, driven by my friend, for 1 1/2 hours, and laid in my recliner until it was time for bed.  I am glad I took today off so I can rest up.  
Since the fatigue, weakness and pain does compromise my ability to do my best at work, I am going to call my neuro and ask for something to help.  Hope there is something.

Hey Lady,

I'm so glad to hear this went well for you.  Please be careful now though, as leaks can take place days after.  No steps, no lifting, bending over and lay flat longer than they say, and as much as you can, please! okay? Not to scare, or be a grim reaper, but it can and does happen.

Keep us posted, but only if you can type while laying flat...lol

Oh, and lots and lots of fluids.  Spinal fluid only replenishes itself a couple times a day.

Glad to hear things went well for you!  This Thursday, I go for my LP, and hopefully it goes smoothly, and I don't feel too bad afterwards.   When do you get your results??

Hi Mary Kay,
It is good to hear your LP went fine - this is another one where everyone's doctor protocol and their experiences are different.  Mine had me up immediately and out the door in under an hour - I had planned on staying there all afternoon and had to wait for my husband to come back and get me!  :-)

Just be sure to relax and drink plenty of fluids afterwards.  Keep us posted how you do...

Please continue to rest and take care of yourself, and if all possible keep your head down when you can.  I developed the spinal headache a couple of days after my LP.  How are you today?

I am doing well.  I laid around all day yesterday and am back at work today.  Hope it will be OK.  I think so.

I'm glad you're doing well and were able to go back to work today.  I'm one of the ones that had a spinal headache, so I'm always very happy for my friends that have an LP with no problems!

It's hard to be patient while waiting for test results, I know.  At least you're distracted with work.  I hope you continue to feel well (all things considered) .
