Thank You For Saving My Life Forum Family :)

I honestly don't know where I would be right now if it hadn't been for all of you.  I love you all so much.  Thank you again for last night. :)  I was scared to death.  I am feeling so much better today, pushing fluids like crazy and taking my medication.  The mix of having Still's and now this thyroid problem really has me in rut row.  I still have no answer to the thyroid problem but Monday I will be seeing my Dr first thing in the morning and hopefully the answers will make sense.  If there is any.  The thing I don't get is, if I have high thyroid hormones wouldn't that make me hyperthyroid?  I am so confused on the thyroid thing.

I am so grateful to all of you, thank you for being so great!!!!!

Love You All,

Ada

If you have an increase in thyroid hormone then yes that would make you hyperthyroid and you have to take medication to control it.  My husband had hyperthyroid for 10 years. Hyperthyroid can change to hypo at any time because basically your thyroid wears itself out.  Hyperthyroid is also more unpredictable than hypo.  My husbands was going haywhire again this last year and we decided to kill his thyroid with radioactive iodine.  It is one of the treatments available for hyperthyroid.  This treatment will kill the thyroid therefore making you have hypothyroid. He could probably tell you more about it.

Thanks for posting.  I saw your crisis with Quix telling you to call 911, and then wasn't able to find out what happened.  I'm so glad you're OK!

I was just going through the older posts, trying to find out what had happened after I ran out of energy and all I could do was pray that you everyone would reach you and you would get help.  It looks like you did.

I don't understand the thyroid thing, either, and some doctors still get confused.  My TSH was elevated, so the doctor called and reduced my Levoxyl dosage.  A few days later, my regular doctor called and said that her work partner had it backwards and that I needed to increase my dosage, not decrease it.  I have hypothyroidism.

I'm glad you get to see your doctor and get clear answers about this.

Most of all, I'm glad you are doing better!

I must have been blind; I just found the thread from last night and what happened after I had to crash.

I love this forum family, too.
