MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS COMMUNITY
That "Aha!" Moment

That "Aha!" Moment

The discussion on anxiety has been a real eye-opener for me.  I am wondering about putting links in the Helath Pages to important topics we have discussed.  By this I mean odd topics that have meant a lot to people.  We often have new - and old - members chiming in and exclaiming that they had just learned something that made them feel so much less alone or less "crazy."  I can almost hear the sobs of relief when they post.   Another example would be the "mouse in the corner of your vision" or the news about the effect of heat.

Have any of you had discussions that had this effect on you.  Can you remember the topic or the little piece of data?  I could incorporate these in with discussions about those things.

That's a great idea!!  I really enjoyed reading the mouse post again and the post you did this morning on anxiety was one of the best ever.  I think everyone here was effected by it.

You've named all the ones I would have thought of, except maybe the Tysabri issue.  Burbandude may be changed to this so I gave Burbanchick some of the posts where it has been discussed.  I know that it is being prescribed more and more and we keep getting questions and info on it.

The NCA post was extremely good too.  Okay, you want me to hush now?

Thanks again for the post on anxiety, it was wonderful.

I found the parasthesis article very informative, especially the taste and smell changes.  Even though I know I have a legitimate reason for all of these weird things . . . sometimes I still try to tell myself "it's all in my head".  It is quite a relief to see in print, those "crazy" symptoms.

My "AHA" moment was when we started a discussion on gray matter lesions.

We can find a plethora of information on white matter lesions on the web, but not the gray matter.  I know because after my neurologist mentioned that he thought there were problems going on in my gray matter I tried to look it up on the web and that was no easy task.  I brought the questions to the forum and made more progress in understanding this issue than I could find on the web.  That was a good aha moment.

I found so much support here when I felt like my friends & family were not believing I had anything wrong with me!  To find out that I was not the only person who felt so alone with this process was an awesome moment for me!!!  Thanks Quix for doing this!

When I found this site and read that many people, diagnoised and undiagnosed had the same symptoms I had I felt like I had been given a gift.  The fact that they were not giving up was very impressive to me.  Also the fact that so many were willing to take the time to share wisdom and give support shows how wonderfull the people on this site are.
