Any suggestions as to what I have to look forward to doing the IV Steroids?   I am waiting for the call as to where I go for the hook up,...  The Dr. did not suggest the oral steroids, cause they ordered a huge dose, and she said that I would probably tolerate the IV ones better.  So, we are waiting....

I have never felt this bad, for such a long time,.... I have been in pain, and had things going on but not like this..... so,
here's hoping that this will make me feel better.

I am going for a colonoscopy/gastrology next Friday, and apparently it is nasty, so we are going to have a couple of not good weeks...

I have had solumedrol iv steroids 3 day treatment once.  I can tell you it leaves a nasty taste in your mouth but the nurse had a bowl of mints for me.  They give you alot of energy...I couldnt sleep so the doctor gave me some sleeping pills.  I remember heartburn.  The only other thing I can think of was that was a surprise was that they left the IV in and just taped the tubes down so they could just connect it for the next 2 days instead of having to find another vein.  It wasn't anything terrible...i was hooked up for about an hour each time...so bring a book.  I thought the prednisone they gave me afterward to taper was worse than the iv steroids.  Good luck with everything.  Sorry your next 2 weeks are not much to look forward to.

The colonoscopy is not so bad. I had one when I had a problem with my colon, was in horrible pain and it still wasn't that bad. :)  I had to drink a gallon of fluids to clean my system out but I hear they have changed that up a bit so it's not so much fluid anymore either! That would be a bonus for me. ;) The colonoscopy itself is something you barely remember. They give you medication that helps you not remember it so much and you go about your business for the day after taking a good nap.
